the lost childhood

In shadows deep, a child once wept,
In silence, their innocence swept,
By hands that should have offered care,
Yet left deep scars of dark despair.

Through tear-stained eyes, they faced the night,
No solace found in morning light,
Their tiny heart weighed down with fear,
As whispers of abuse drew near.

But in the darkness, a spark did glow,
A flicker of strength began to grow,
Within their soul, a flame ignited,
A spirit fierce, though once benighted.

Through trials vast and oceans wide,
They found a way to heal inside,
With courage as their guiding light,
They rose above the darkest night.

Though shadows linger, scars remain,
Their spirit soars, no longer chained,
For in the depths of pain and sorrow,
They found the strength to face tomorrow.

So let us stand, hand in hand,
Against the darkness, take a stand,
To lift the voices of the past,
And build a world that's safe at last.

May love and light now lead the way,
And bring healing to those who fray,
For in our unity and grace,
We find the strength to heal and embrace.
