fake happy

In smiles that don't quite reach the eyes,
Lies a secret hidden beneath disguise.
A mask of joy, so carefully worn,
Concealing feelings tattered and torn.

Forced laughter echoes, hollow and thin,
Hiding the storm that rages within.
Pretending to be happy and bright,
While darkness lingers out of sight.

The world sees a picture-perfect facade,
Yet inside, emotions are tangled and flawed.
Fake happiness, a fragile charade,
A fragile veil over fears that never fade.

So let's be true to ourselves, no more lies,
Embrace our truths, let our real selves arise.
For genuine happiness, in authenticity lies,
Shining brightly when we drop the disguise.
