Proving Themselves

After the HYDRA agent incident the three super soldiers found themselves in a medical lab.

"Think you got enough?" AJ asked referring to the blood samples taken from him, Steve, and Becca.

"Any hope of reproducing a program is locked in your genetic codes. But without Dr. Erskine, it could take years." Peggy replied.

"He deserved more than this." Steve said with a sigh.

"If it could only work once, he'd be proud it was you three." Peggy said softly to him.

"Oh how the roles have reversed." Becca commented looking at Steve and Peggy.

"it's like were invisible." AJ said quietly to Becca making her giggle and nod in agreement.

"You two know we can hear you, right?" Steve said rolling his eyes.

"Yeah, so?" Becca and AJ said at the same time.

"Colonel Phillips, my committee is demanding answers." Senator Brandt said as he walked in the SSR tech lab which housed the HYDRA submarine recovered.

"Great. Why don't we start with how a German spy got a ride to my secret installation in your car?" Phillips said then turned to Stark who is working on the submarine. "What have we got here?"

"Speaking modestly, I'm the best mechanical engineer in this country. But I don't know what's inside this thing or how it works. We're not even close to this technology." Howard replied.

"Then who is?" Brandt questioned.

"HYDRA. I'm sure you've been reading our briefings." Phillips said.

"I'm on a number of committees, colonel."

"HYDRA is the Nazi deep science division. It's led by Johann Schmidt. But he has much bigger ambitions." Peggy announced as she walked in with Becca, AJ, and Steve behind her.

"HYDRA's practically a cult. They worship Schmidt, they think he's invincible."

"So what are you gonna do about it?" Brandt asked.

"Spoke to the president this morning. As of today the SSR is being retested."

"Colonel?" Peggy asked.

"We are taking the fight to HYDRA. Pack your bags Agent Carter. You too, Stark. You're flying to London tonight."

"Sir, if you're going after Schmidt, I want in." Steve said.

"Me too." Becca added.

"Count me in." AJ said with a nod.

"Steve, AJ, Becca, you three are an experiment. You're going to Alamogordo."

"The serum worked." Steve said.

"I asked for an army and all I got was you three. You are not enough."

"Why give us the serums if you were just going to turn us into lab rats?" AJ said getting in the face of Colonel Phillips.

"Stand down, boy." Colonel Phipps said dismissing AJ.

"With all due respect Colonel, I think we may be missing the point. I've seen these three in action. More importantly, the country's seen it." Brandt said handing over a newspaper/ "The enlistment lines have been around the block since their pictures hit the news stands. You don't take soldiers, three symbols like that, and hide them in a lab. Sons, ma'am do you want to serve your country on the most important battlefield of the war?"
