AJ Watson: Codename - Shadow

Time Travel!

Becca and AJ stood outside the compound looking out onto the lawn. The two parents had just put down their children for their afternoon naps and were taking in the scenery while they were both lost within their own thoughts.

There was a possibility of Scott's plan working out. Even without the help of Tony, with AJ and Bruce there was a chance. Both super soldiers wanted to bring back the people they lost five years ago. They wanted their brother Bucky Barnes to meet their kids and have a relationship with them.

"You ever think about retiring?" Becca asked while still looking out at the lawn.

"It crossed my mind back when the Accords were first introduced." AJ admitted. "Although, I think right now, the world is gonna need us, especially if this works."

"Yeah." Becca said taking her hands out of her jacket pockets and fiddling with her fingers.

"What's on your mind, Becs?" AJ asked glancing over at her.

"I just... I miss Bucky. I want him back." Becca said wiping away a tear.

"I know. I want him back too." AJ said pulling Becca into a side hug. "You're building a beautiful house for you, Natasha, and your kids."

"You're one to talk." Becca said nudging AJ. "The house you build for Yelena is like a dream."

"Guess it's a good thing we'll be neighbors then." AJ said with a chuckle.

Steve walked out of the building and saw the two standing there. He went up to them and stood beside Becca and looked out at the view as well.

"Lang's got the van prepped in the hangar." He informed them.

They both nodded. "Good."

The Captain recognized their moods after knowing them for so long and turned to look at Becca and AJ. "Everything all right you two?"

"Can you keep a secret?" Becca asked the man.

"Of course I can."  Steve said with a grin making AJ and Becca roll their eyes.

"Over the past few months, Becca and I have been going to check up on houses that we were having built for our families. Once we get everyone back, we won't retire necessarily, but we'll move out of the compound so we can have a place of our own with our wife and kids."

Steve was shocked upon hearing that his two closest friends were taking steps to secure their families. He was also proud that they were doing this for the women they love and their children. If Steve were to ever have children of his own, he would name them after AJ and Becca, he looked up to both of them and without them, he would have been here in this world alone.

"I'm proud of both of you." Steve said before he initiated a hug with the both of them. "Let's get this started, Addi, Becca."

"Lead the way, old man." Becca said to him making Steve roll his eyes but chuckle nonetheless.

"You know, that's ironic coming from you." AJ jumped in as they were walking to the hangar. Becca elbowed him harshly in the ribs. "What was that for?" He asked wheezing slightly.

"For calling me old." Becca scolded while glaring at AJ.

"Okay, here we go. Time travel test number one." Bruce shouted as he and AJ stood behind the console. "Scott, fire up the, uh... The van thing."

Scott, in his own time travel suit, opened up the back of the van and started up the portal within the back of it. Steve started walking up to Natasha, Yelena, and Becca who were standing next to the console.

"Breakers are set." He stated. "How are the emergency generators?"

Pietro dashed into the area and stood beside them. "They are on standby."
