AJ had a hard time accepting the defeat and found it hard to move on. He felt guilty in a way, he still had his fiancé, they were expecting their first child and he still had most of his friends and family. He felt guilty that half the universe was gone, there were kids without their parents, and parents without their kids. What made him so lucky that he got to keep almost everything while others lost everything.
In the couple weeks following Thor's murder of Thanos, the Asgardian had left the compound. The last the team had heard, he settled in Norway with the remaining Asgardians.
Tony had also vacated the compound, but no one could blame him. After his space expedition, he decided to spend his time with Pepper. AJ knew he still held a grudge over himself and Steve from what happened in Siberia and them not telling him about his parents.
Carol Danvers had left the team as well and went back into space. But she said she'd keep in contact and she'll be here when the "baby Avenger" was born. Nebula and Rocket said the same thing before they went back into space as well. Bruce also moved out, wanting to isolate himself for a while to figure out his situation with the Hulk. He said he'll be back when it gets closer to the time for Yelena to give birth.
The people who stayed at the compound were Becca, Natasha, Steve, Pietro, Rhodey, Yelena, and AJ. Helen Cho would come in every few weeks to give a check up on Yelena and the baby. Natasha and Becca were working with Steve on trying to find out a way for him to become their donor, so the two of them could start a family like AJ and Yelena were.
AJ, Natasha, Becca, and Yelena had heard that Sasha, Katerina, Melina, and Alexei had dusted when Thanos snapped his fingers. The four of them were sad to hear that they were gone. They would occasionally check up on one another during their two years of being on the run while the two younger Widow's were freeing the other Widow's. Katerina still had AJ's silver titanium arm which she brought everywhere with her.
"Addi..." Yelena called out from the couch in the lounge.
"Yes doll?" AJ replied but received no answer. "Doll?" AJ called out again. "Lena?" AJ called out for a third time and when he didn't get an answer, he went to the longue to see Yelena laying on the couch.
"Are you alright?" AJ asked worried for her.
"Can you hand me the remote?" She asked pointing to the remote literally two feet away from her.
"Seriously?" AJ asked rolling his eyes.
"What?" She asked looking at him. "I'm comfortable."
"Unbelievable." AJ huffed and handed her the remote.
"Well, since you're here can you make me macaroni?" She asked using her puppy dog eyes. She knew AJ couldn't resist whenever she gave him those eyes.
"Of course, doll. Would you like anything else?" AJ asked leaning over the back of the couch.
"Well, I can't have vodka while I'm pregnant, so no nothing else." Yelena answered then pecked AJ's lips.
"Probably not the best idea to drink while pregnant with our child." AJ replied pecking her lips again. "One order of macaroni coming right up. I love you, Lena."
"I love you too AJ." She replied before trying to push him to the kitchen.
When AJ came back to the longue with Yelena's macaroni, he gently placed it down on the coffee table in front of her. Yelena sat up and started to do a little dance at seeing the food in front of her.
