The team of fugitive Avengers were in Paris, France. They had just taken down a major arms dealer that was dealing Chitauri technology. They all went back to their hotel rooms on the outskirts of the city. Once AJ and Yelena were changed out of their suits and showered, AJ decided it was time to do what King T'Challa told him to do two years ago.
AJ was sitting on his and Yelena's bed in their shared room and waited for her to exit the bathroom. He had told her they were going out for a walk and told her to get ready. He was currently looking at the ring while he waited.
When AJ heard the door start to open, he closed the box and shoved the ring into his coat pocket and put a glove on his right hand to hide the vibranium hand.
"Ready?" Yelena asked once she exited the bathroom and saw her boyfriend.
"I am, shall we?" He asked getting up and moving swiftly over to her and offering his hand.
"We shall." She said with a little laugh.
The two exited their little hotel room and started to walk hand in hand towards the city of Paris. Yelena thought they were going out for a quiet dinner since she mentioned that she was hungry but AJ had a lot more planned than just food for the evening.
"How do you feel about the takedown we just did?" Yelena asked as they walked through the quiet streets.
"It felt good. We got more Chitauri tech off the market and one of the biggest Chitauri arms dealers behind bars so it was a win-win." AJ answered.
"Do you ever think about what it would be like when we stop fighting?" Yelena asked suddenly.
AJ was now thinking back to when the Accords were first introduced and he would have retired and moved to the coast with Yelena.
"I have. When the Accords were first introduced, I was going to retire." AJ admitted making Yelena turn her head to the man. "I was gonna suggest we move to the coast, build a house, settle down. Start a family, maybe have a couple dogs and a couple kids." He said with a light smile thinking about what a quiet life with Yelena would be like.
"Well, in order for us to have all of that, we need to not be fugitives from 117 countries." Yelena said making AJ chuckle.
"That would be helpful, doll." AJ said when he stopped chuckling.
"You know, I have to say, I like the beard." Yelena confessed to the man who had grown out a beard like Cap's while sporting longer hair.
"Thank you, love." AJ said and gave her a peck on the lips before he opened the door to the small restaurant for Yelena. She thanked him and entered first with him closely behind.
The couple shared a nice dinner where Yelena ordered the mac and cheese special making AJ chuckle to himself over her love of macaroni. It was one of the many things AJ adored about Yelena. He couldn't help the smile that came to his now bearded face when she saw the dish being set down in front of her.
Yelena looked up from her food which was making her mouth water, to see AJ looking over at her with his signature smile on his face.
