Rebecca Barnes had her head down like the rest of her colleagues. They were all sat in the back of a S.T.R.I.K.E. teams truck heading towards their unfortunate end.
"It was him." She abruptly said as a tear rolled down her cheek. "He looked right at me. He didn't even recognize his own sister."
Everyone in the truck knew she was talking about the Winter Soldier, who turned out to be Rebecca's little brother who Steve, AJ, and Becca assumed perished after he fell from the train back in 1945.
"How is that even possible? It was like, 70 years ago." Sam asked.
"Zola. Bucky's whole unit was captured in '43." Steve answered.
"We found him isolated muttering to himself. Meaning Zola experimented on him." AJ chimed in as he held his gash.
Becca sighed. "Whatever he did helped Jamie survive the fall. They must have found him and... Oh God..."
"None of that's your fault, Becca." Natasha muttered quietly, but it was loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Even when we had nothing, we all had each other." Steve said.
AJ noticed Natasha and Yelena's weakened state, and was going to say something but he was also in a weak state so Sam spoke up.
"We need to get a doctor here." He said sternly. "If we don't put pressure on those wounds, they're gonna bleed out here in the truck."
One of the agents brandished their electrified batons and motioned it to Sam making him lean back. To everyone's surprise, the agent attacked their colleague sitting beside them and took him down.
The agent took off their helmet, revealing themselves to be none other than Maria Hill.
"Ah. That thing was squeezing my brain." Hill breathed out as hair covered her face. She moved away and looked at Sam then to the rest of the team.
"Who is this guy?"
"Good to see you again, Hill." AJ said with a weak laugh.
"Commander." She replied then looked at the state's of Natasha, Yelena, and AJ. "We need to get you three some medical attention."

They had escaped through the floor of the truck during one of their steps and took a van to Hill's hideout, which was an abandoned S.H.I.E.L.D. facility located in a dam.
Natasha was helped down the hallway by Steve and Becca as Yelena was helped by a struggling AJ and Sam. Maria called out to an incoming doctor.
"Two GSW's. They lost at least a pint." Hill called out then looked at AJ. "Stab wound on Commander Watson. He's also lost at least a pint."
"Maybe two." Sam and Becca added in.
"Let me take the GSW's." The doctor shouted back.
Hill shook her head. "They'll want to see him first."
They walked into another room and Hill pulled back the curtains. To everyone's shock except for AJ, they saw Nick Fury lying on a bed connected to multiple machines, alive and breathing.
