Chapter 2 ~ Let Me Go

Your POV

Luckily, Jiyū saved me and we both made it out alive from the dragon hunters.

We slowly went around the mountain twice so we made sure we weren't followed.

When we got back to the cave, Owari was patiently waiting for us.

"Have you been good?!" I said cheerfully and Owari wagged its tail and jumped on me, nuzzling his face on my cheek.

'He's such like a dog' I thought and smiled at him.

"Get off of me so we can eat" I said.

Owari got off of me and we walked deeper into the cave. When we got back to the fire pit, I threw in some fire wood and Jiyū used his fire to light the cave.

"Thank you Jiyū for saving me" I said and hugged him, Jiyū nudged me and used his head to mess up my hair purposely.

"Come on, let's eat" I said and ripped off three kills for Owari and four kills for Jiyū.

"Sorry guys, I know this isn't enough for you guys but food is pretty scarce" I said as I threw their food at them.

Of course three of four small animals aren't going to fill a dragons stomach.

I watched Owari and Jiyū eat the small animals with their powerful jaws. I grabbed a rabbit for myself, skinning its fur off and gave Owari who happily accepted it.

'If only this world was fair... But that'll never happens' I thought and sighed then placed the rabbit meat over the fire, careful not to burn it.

I walked outside of the cave, picking some winter berries which were frozen. When I came back in the cave the rabbit was done cooking.

I thawed the frozen berries and ate it with the meat. I yawned and slept on the ground, laying on my side and looked at the fire.

The warmth hit my face and I slowly drifted into a peaceful sleep.

'I will get freedom for me and my dragons....'

I felt my body jerk but I wasn't doing it?

Curiously I opened my eyes and saw Jiyū who kept nudging me nonstop. I looked over Owari and saw that he was pacing, making nervously clicking noises.

"Jiyū? What's wrong?" I asked and Jiyū nudged me again and kept looking at the direction of the cave which was outside.

Without hesitation I wore my cloak, putting the knives in my boots, careful not to cut myself.

Whenever Jiyū sensed danger, he would act oddly and repeatedly nudging me. I trusted Jiyū at every time he sensed danger, we would immediately change our locations and find someplace else to live.

I climbed on Jiyū and looked at Owari.

"You better keep up" I said and Owari nodded his head a couple of times then spread his wings, showing that he could.

"Good" I smiled at him and pulled up my hood. "Lets go" I said, holding onto Jiyū's reins.

We walked outside of the cave and something was wrong...

A chill ran down my back.

It wasn't because of the cold snowflakes hitting my face.

It wasn't because of the harsh wind blowing against me.
