Chapter 20 ~ Cruel World

That's when half of the camp blew up in flames.

"Levi!" I yell out. My eyes scan the sky but it was hard to see since Ai-chan has purely black night scales.

All I could see was shadows of the Dragon hunters from the fires now burning.

I can tell they were confused as me.

'Where are they?!' I thought. I try to calm myself as I noticed that I was beginning to panic. I kept shaking my head constantly.

'I can't just wait until someone saves me!' I told myself.

I reach out my hand, grabbing one of the dragon hunters sword without him knowing. With a loud clank, I was finally free.

Unfortunately the others notice the loud noise I created and began charging at me.

"Mother son of a-" I stop in the middle of my sentence and clash against a dragon hunter.

"Ah!!"

I take a quick snap of my head behind me, seeing the another hunter running up behind me.

Before he could take another step at me until a set of jaws clamps on him, flinging him in the air.

Kicking off the dragon Hunter, I climb into the green dragons back who saved my life and we fly into the air.

I hung onto the dragon as best I could until missiles of arrows were flying at us. I look down, seeing the ground so far away below me. My breathed fasten, my eyes widen and my heart jumps.

'It's too high....' I thought.

Everything slows down and I tip over,
involuntarily, barely gripping on the back of the dragon but keep glancing at the floor below me which was covered in fire and dragon hunters.

"F/n!"

Levi's face appeared in the darkness, he was riding on top of Ai while wearing the black and red cloak I gave him.

His hand was outstretched, Ai was flying next to us but kept jostling in the air avoiding the arrows.

"Hurry!" Levi yells, one hand was hanging onto Ai's horns and the other was reaching out for me.

My hand inch towards his but quickly stops and tries hanging back onto the dragon again. My feet slipping from the sides of the dragon.

"F/n." I hear Levi's voice say. "Please. Trust me." His grey eyes stares into mines, pleading for me.

I nod my head, shutting my eyes and reaching my hand out for him then jumping to him in midair.

I feel the wind on my face, blowing my hair back and the coolness of the scalp. My eyes are still closed shut and I block out the sounds.

It feels like I'm falling but I can't feel the ground.

"F/n!"

The voice snaps me back into the present. I look up, seeing Levi hand gripping on mines. Looking back on the ground, instead of fear, it's adrenaline.

I felt Levi heave me up, and I wrap my arms around his waist as we half crash, half land on the ground.

Me and Levi rolls off of Ai as she shook off the dirt. I look around, the camps in fire and the group of dragon riders fighting against the hunters.

I look in the air, seeing the green dragon spitting?

My eyes widen as the spit hits a person, instantly melting them away into a pile of black substance.
