Chapter 3 ~ This Is What I Get

Petra dropped the key into my hands and I smirked and uncuff my hands and feet and ran to the door inside the metal cage. I unlocked myself and ran to Jiyū's cage. I unlocked the his chains and his eyes flew open.

A random dragon hunter came running towards us but Jiyū blew his dragon breath, burning him to ashes.

"Cover me" I said and ran out with Jiyū protecting me from arrows and other attackers. I ran to Owari's cage and freed him then I climbed on top of Jiyū.

"Lets get out of here" I said and glared at Petra and the rest of her comrades.

"B-But you said you would help my comrades!" Petra shouted, I shot her a glare.

"You tried to take away my family from me. Why would I protect someone who would try kill my family" I said darkly and she looked at me, speechless in her mouth and disbelief in her eyes. I turned my head away from her.

"Lets go" I said and Jiyū lifted into the air with Owari flying behind us. Arrows whizzed past us but didn't hit any of us, I quickly looked down below.

Auruo was helping Petra, Gunther and Erd were back to back but were surrounded. The short man was all alone against dozens of other dragon riders.

Suddenly my words echoed in my head...

'My dragons are my family and I want to protect them, your comrades are your family....

Let us protect them both..'

I groaned as the guilt was eating me alive, I sighed and looked at.

"Owari, hide in the trees until I call you out. Me and Jiyū will take care of this" I commanded but Owari refused. I shot him a glare at Owari and he slowly approach the ground and began hiding in the trees.

"Lets hurry up and get this over with" I muttered and Jiyū flew at fast speed, breathing out his fire and hitting the intruders.

At the corner of my eye I saw the short man looking at me. When Jiyū swooped down again, I jumped off his back and tackled the attackers.

I grabbed a sword out of someones sheath and began clashing against the enemies. I cut down each one that stood my way, making my way to the short man.

When I reach him, I see that bruises are on his face and blood was splattered on him.

"Tch, filthy" He muttered but kept slashing at the unknown dragon hunters. Jiyū swept down breathing out his death fire, burning.

"I don't need a dragon riders help" The short man muttered.

"This dragon rider is saving your ass" I snapped back as I slayed another dragon hunter that was behind the short man.

"Tell me your name" I said and slashed through another victim.

"Tch, Levi Ackerman" He said as he fought over a man.

"Well, Levi Ackerman. I'm F/n L/n. Not brat" I said firmly.

"Tch, what ever brat" He said, my eyebrow twitched that I stabbed through a mans heart.

I stayed quiet and fought through the crowd of intruders. Jiyū swooped down but his neck was grappled by metal chains and he was slammed into the ground.

"No!" I yelled and tried to run to Jiyū but was blocked by dozens of enemies.

Because of my worried about Jiyū, a man successfully stabbed through my right side. I scream out in pain, as I did Jiyū also roared in pain. I glared at the man who stabbed me, I grabbed his blade and ripped it out of me while groaning.
