Chapter 18 - I'll Help

Your POV

"Thank you so much" I said, a tear dropped to the ground.

"Tch, let's go back now. It's freezing" Levi complained.

"Yea alright" I said and smiled at him and followed him back to the cave.

Levi made a small fire as I calmed myself down. I made a small smiled and leaned back on the cave wall, enjoying the warmth of the fire. My eyelids slowly became heavy and closed.

~Time Skip~

"Oi, wake up"

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Levi looking at me. I yawned and rubbed my eyes, feeling tired from staying up late yesterday.

"Good morning" I said.

"Get dress, eat then meet me outside" Levi demanded and walked out of the cave.

I looked around and saw that Ai was gone also. I quickly changed my clothes and ate breakfast then walking outside, seeing Levi with Ai.

"Why did you call me out here?" I asked, placing my hands on my hips.

"Get on" He demanded.

I let out a small sigh. "I told you already.... I can't fly with Owari or Jiyū" I said firmly yet soft.

"I'm going to help you" He said and climbed on top of Ai.

"You're... Going to help me?" I said and looked at him. I have no idea but my heart fluttered when I saw him.

"Hurry up and get on" Levi demanded again.

I looked down and clenched my fists. I wanted to ride again..... But I couldn't for some reason.

"Hey"

I looked up and saw that Levi's hand was extended to me.

My hand he distantly inched towards his..... Then finally grabbed it.

I hoisted myself up and wrapped my arms around his torso.

"Just take it one step at a time. Tell me if you're about to cry then we'll fly back" Levi said.

"Why are you helping me?..." I said quietly.

"Shut up and let me help you" Levi said coldly.

I smiled warmly and hugged him gently.

"Alright. Let's ride"

~Time Skip~

"Please stop!" I yelled, my eyes squeezed shut tight.

Levi didn't say anything but let me down.

"I-Im sorry... Let's try again" I said with tears at the corner of my eyes.

"No, that's enough for today" Levi said and slid off Ai.

"Wait why?!" I shouted.

A low rumbling sound replied to my question.

Levi walked over to Ai and pat her muzzle.

"She's hungry" Levi said, looking at Ai. "Would you make her skip lunch?" Levi looked at me.

"I'm so sorry Ai! I forgot..." I said sadly and looked down.

Ai nuzzled me, making a low but happy growl. I smiled and hugged her, then glanced at Levi for a second.

~Time Skip~

My back rested against the cool cave wall as I let my stomach digested the food.

I yawned as I felt the heat of the fire, warming up my body. I watched as Ai snore softly while laying in the dark of the shadows.

It was hard to tell where she was, since her black scaly skin was camouflage so well in the night.

Levi walked into the cave and dropped in more wood into the pit, creating the flame grow larger.

Ai awoke, sensing her rider and walked out of her dark corner. She happily welcome back her rider with a couple licks on his cheek.

"Filthy" Levi said and wiped the saliva off with a handkerchief but Ai didn't seem to mind his comment.

She waddled back to her corner and curled into a ball, quickly falling to sleep.

Levi sat down tiredly and ate some berries that were placed on a clean leaf to serve.

"I wonder how the others are doing" I mumbled curiously.

"What?" Levi said while chewing the berry.

"I'm just curious on how Erd and the others are doing" I replied and yawned, rubbing my eyes.

"They'll be fine, as long we don't mix ourselves with them" he said and leaned against the cave wall, closing his eyes.

"I hope they're alright" I said and laid on my side, using my arm as a pillow then falling asleep.

'Levi!!!!!!!!!' I yelled out.

A shadow appeared above me.

Ai was on the ground with a mouthful of blood. She didn't move. Or breath.

I tried reaching out to her but I was suddenly in the dark.

Fire lit up the darkness and I appeared in front of a house. The house was on fire as I heard yelling from within.

'F/n!!'

My eyes widened as I saw Levi in the midst of the fire. He yelled out my name again but looked up.

The roof collapsed.....

My eyes shot open from a nightmare, tears were softly in my eyes. I quickly wiped them away and walked out of the cave.

I sighed while looking at the moon until groups of branches slowly covered my vision.

I shivered as the cold night sky cut through my thin clothing. I walked aimlessly around the forest until...

"GET THE HELL OFF OF ME"

My head perked up as I heard more yelling.

"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM MY DRAGON"

My body froze.

'There's more dragon hunters?'
