"Mani! Come here, please!" today is the day she gets to meet her other grandmother and one of her uncles. I don't need her taking the anger she has towards Adonis out on them.

"Yes?" she asked hoppin up on my bed.

"Today you get to meet your dad's side of the family, and I want you to be on your best behavior."

"Is my daddy gonna come?" she asked with hope.

"Not this time, because I'm not ready to see him just yet, I need to talk to him first and clear the air with him, and then I'll let him come see you, ok?" She may only be 5, but she understands a lot for her age.

"Why do you have to talk to him first?"

"Because he said some really mean things to me before you were born, and I need to know why he said it."

"Ok, so who's coming?"

"His mom and one of his brothers."

"Ok."

"You riding with me to pick them up from the airport or are you goin to papa house until I get back?"

"I'm riding, they coming to see me, not you." she smiled before kissing my cheek and leaving. This child of mine, what am I gonna do with her?

"You here?" Ms. Diana asked as soon as she picked up.

"Yes ma'am right out front. Just look for the little girl sittin on the roof." I laughed and looked up at Mani sittin through the sunroof. She made a sign and said when we got here, she was gon hold it while she sat up there.

"I see her, here we come." she said and we hung up.

"Here they come, Mani" I told her, and she held the sign up higher. It says "Here Is Amani!" most people would put the name of the person who just got off the plane on their sign, not this one.

"Oh my gosh, you're gorgeous!" I heard Ms. Diana gush.

"I know, but thank you" Amani said, as she started to get down. I unlocked the doors and popped the trunk.

"Hey Lia!" she said as she got in, and Alex put the bags in the trunk.

"Hey Ms. Diana." I smiled.

"Chile, what I tell you bout that Ms. Diana stuff?"

"Sorry, Hey Mama Diana."

"That's better, how you been?"

"Great, you?"

"Would've been better if you and my grandbaby didn't disappear on me."

"Your son fault."

"I know, but you know you could've came to me."

"Yeah, but a baby around what he does? not happening."

"True, speaking of that, I gotta talk to you about it when we get to your house."

"That's fine." I said as Alex got in the car.

"Stranger! What's up?"

"You left first, remember?" I joked before pulling off.

"I know, that's my niece?"

"Yeah."

"What's up? I'm Uncle Alex, if ya mama say no, come to me, and I got ya" he smiled at her. And she screamed in happiness.

"Just what we need, another person to spoil her."

"Still got that smart mouth, I see." Alex said.
