"What is the meaning of this?!"
Valon was forced to kneel in front of the captain of the Emperor's Unit.
"Stop acting like you're innocent, Lord Valon" the captain spoke as he drew his sword.
Blade didn't fight, he had to act like a useless servant, so he was just kneeling with all the other servants and maids of the house.
He knew the servants would have been sent to the capital to be sold.
Once reached the Capital, Blade would have broke free and proceed with the assassination plan he had in mind. Piece of cake.
"We know you've been trying to give your territories to the North Duke. The land his Majesty gifted you... and you wanted to give it to the North Duke expecting the Crown to approve it? You didn't even ask for his Majesty's blessing..."
Blade opened up his eyes, just like Valon who felt like they exposed a big secret.
"You..." Valon grit his teeth "That fucking.... He's..." he laughed insanely, knowing it was already the end for him "He's a control freak... So he's been spying on my letters... That's why I never received a reply from the North Duke... Ah... I got played"
"Father...." Irene had tears in her eyes "Why... Why..." she tried to get free from the soldiers, but she was held strongly "Let me go!"
"Because our territory was left to die! I wanted to make sure you didn't have to get married to some man his Majesty would give!" Valon shouted "The only one who have enough power to stand against those... sly moves is the North Du..." he opened up his eyes when he felt the sword stabbing his chest.
"FATHER!" Irene shouted in panic, with her eyes full of horror.
Blade grit his teeth feeling awful. So Valon wasn't an actual bastard. He was seeking for actual help from Blade and his family.
But they never received letters...
And that moment of realization made him think about how many dukes were trying to reach them out in the North territories to seek for help... and alliance.
Ah, the smoke of rebellion was already these since so long... Blade felt like laughing insanely.
The Emperor was indeed a sly bastard.
And a control freak.
"We're done here. As his Majesty ordered us. Bring the servants there.... And also Lady Irene." the captain said as he noticed the servants trying to get to their Lord's body as everyone was awfully loyal to him but especially to Irene, who was now crying in panic and trembling.
Blade just reached out for her and hugged her tight, as the soldiers were pushing them in a convoy.
"Sleep, my lady" Blade said as Irene was trembling into his arms
"Where are we going.... My father... I couldn't even bury him..." her hiccups were the only thing people could hear as the convoy was moving.
Blade kissed her forehead and in that moment Irene blushed a little feeling how toned her servant's body was. She didn't want to think much, she ended up sleeping as some tears were getting wiped off some from the maids.
"They didn't kill us... why... Why!" one of the servants shouted "Are we going to be sold?! I am a fucking knight!"
Blade was sure they were all going to the capital.
Well.
That's what he got to know back to the future through letters sent by the Emperor to update the North Duke about what the hell was happening in the inner territories.
