Dan Heng had no idea why he was doing it.
He was, once again, following Blade in the night on his horse.
"Will you tell me where you're taking me?" Dan Heng asked and Blade was focus on looking at the night sky full of stars "We're... far away from my manor" he stopped the horse "Is this an assassination attempt?"
Blade rolled his eyes and turned towards the prince, who was looking at the Crown Prince holding himself up on the horse "Do you think I'd bother this much to kill you?"
Dan Heng looked at him wearing a long black coat, hiding the sword and even a bow. He was wearing leather black boots and it looked like he was wearing also a light armor "Then why are you... dressed up like this?"
Blade did ride towards him to then hold his horse's bridles and force him to move with him "I told you I have to do something, and I just want you to come with me" his red eyes locked on his "You're safe with me."
Dan Heng felt weird at those words. His blue eyes were stuck on his figure, as he was focus on looking up the sky.
"I don't care about it" Dan Heng muttered and Blade rolled his eyes
"But I do." he said and Dan Heng felt a weird feeling inside once again at those words the duke said so lightly as he was looking at the sky.
Blade smirked when he noticed a group of bloodbirds flying up the sky. Dan Heng opened up his eyes scared to see four of those magical creatures flying near them. Their eyes were red glowing just like Blade's ones.
"The North Duke... You're really... the North Duke" he muttered feeling a little anxious to be next to the son of the family his father had to almost kneel before since they were holding the biggest part of the military power.
"What, you didn't believe me, your Highness?" Blade asked and Dan Heng bit his own lips under that little smirk of the Duke "It will begin soon"
"What...?" Dan Heng opened up his eyes when he could notice they were slowly riding towards the borders "I can't go further! If they see you with me without my identity being hidden... they will kill you! Blade!" he grit his teeth trying to stop the horse, but Blade was keep riding
"Oh, are you worried about me?" he asked and Dan Heng was trying to make his horse go faster to stop him.
"If someone dares to lay eyes on you, your Highness, execution will be held"
"It's for your safety"
"My big brother is such a troublemaker, why did you want to meet those soldiers? Now they have to be executed"
"Dan Heng, you're not supposed to let your heart feel any affection towards those people, your beloved father and brother, we're enough. The rest is not worth it, you're living for us, don't you remember?"
Dan Heng's eyes were filled of those people he used to hangout one day and the next one they were all dead. He was just a young Crown Prince, he didn't know... he wouldn't know he would cause so much pain...
"I don't want more people to die for me!" Dan Heng exclaimed trying to get a hold of himself
Blade moved the arm in front of Dan Heng's chest as he stopped also the horses. Dan Heng looked at Blade's hand leaning on his chest, touching it and pressing it "W-What are you doing you insolent?!"
"Oh, your heart is beating so fast, aren't you such a soft heart?"
Dan Heng looked away to then slowly notice Blade reaching out for one of the bloodbirds that laid on his arm.
