"Your Majesty! You can't be serious! You can't take this woman with you back to the Empire to marry her!" Umi was following a young Emperor, who was rolling his eyes back
"And why is that?" the Emperor crossed his arms and the mage looked at the guards surrounding the temple of the Dragon of War "I am the Emperor and the North territories are mine too!" he pointed the finger at the temple full of beautiful women, confused by the amount of soldiers surrounding them "I got told the Dragon of War is the one that crazy barbarian... that Ying managed to get his glance and be blessed with power. He blessed one of my best soldiers! Shouldn't I thank the Dragon of War by making her my Empress? The bond between the Crown and the God of War will be... perfect!"
Umi sighed and shook his head "Your Majesty, the prophecy said that in your path to the North Territory you will meet strenght and valuable resources for your Empire, not a wife!"
The Emperor grit his teeth "Isn't an Empress a great resource for the Empire? She will give birth to a son, and I need a successor"
"There's an harem for that!" Umi exclaimed and the Emperor narrowed his stare "Your Majesty, it's... forbidden to take a priestess of the Dragon of War's temple as wife. It's told in every ancient slate... whoever dares to lay a finger on the Dragon of War's women, then doom will come! Dragons are really possessive and the dragon of War... Gods know what would happen! You don't really want to mess with destiny!"
The Emperor looked at the mage to then smirk "Please." he walked towards one of the women with big clear blue eyes and kissed her as his arms were holding her tight "See? Am I dead?" the Emperor asked, looking at the mage who clenched his fists, looking at the woman he loved, being taken forcefully by the Emperor.
Umi was heartbroken.
He used to visit the temple just to look at her by distance, knowing he couldn't get any closer to touch her. He would show her magic, he would laugh and talk to her.
Umi was in love with someone he couldn't touch, but he was fine to just show his devotion with little gifts and conversation. The mage knew he couldn't get anything and Dan Heng's mother liked how the mage always respected it.
Umi now, saw the woman he loved and he planned to love for all his long life as magical creature...Devoted... being taken by the Emperor.
She would have become Empress.
She would have given birth forced to fullfill her duty.
Umi knew he'd hate to death that child.
He knew it.
When Umi came back to his academia, his eyes opened up when the mages were in panic.
"What is happening?!" Umi exclaimed as he could feel an awful amount of... blood mana inside.
"Headmaster! Headmaster! Come! Quickly!"
Umi ran towards the big audience room of the high mages and his purple eyes opened up.
"All the stone slates... All we know about the possible futures.." one of the mage was stuttering and Umi felt himself dead looking at the stone slates they've spent eras to gather.
The Stone Slates were told to be signs from the Gods above to guide humans. Few strong mages were the chosen ones to use their own mana and craft them when connected with the Gods.
All the stone slates covering all the walls of the audience room were slowly shattering in front of their eyes and becoming powder.
From all that, only one stone slate formed... without even a mage connecting his mana.
