Ashes...
Dan Heng was confused.
His bedroom was... dusty... stinky... He looked out of the window and the whole... the whole manor was covered in flames.
Everything was on fire.
Inside the bedroom, outside, around every angle of that place, bodies were on the ground... Those servants, who were about to play the last part of the Emperor's game, were bleeding slowly to death.
They were wounded, all in critical places to ensure their deaths in the most painful way.
Dan Heng stand up, coughing from the smoke and slowly walked out his bedroom. His pure blue eyes were filled with the images of those people paralysed on the ground with the flames almost eating them.
Dan Heng had his own hands trembling, he couldn't understand what was happening.
He was so close.
He was so close to please his family and make them happy by accepting his destiny.
He would finally feel the love he was yearning... Why were his assassins all dying... Why.
Dan Heng's eyes were wide open as he saw one of his servants he used to... see at the stable, taking care of the horses... That man was in front of him, with a smirk, cleaning his flaming sword on a body to then charge and kill the last servants.
"What are you doing!?" exclaimed one of the dukes part of that insane game. He opened up his eyes when he saw the man piercing his chest with a single swing of his sword. The duke coughed blood "You were supposed... to kill the Prince... We were finally... done with this game"
The man kicked the man and laughed insanely "Silence." his eyes... The duke suffocated as soon as he noticed the eyes of the man changing slowly colour... Stars... darkness. The man felt thrown into that like the man was holding his soul in his hands.
"... You..." Dan Heng tilted his head confused when the man turned towards him and showed his eyes. They both looked at each others, the man looked serious and maybe annoyed "Who... who are you? Why... Why did you kill them all... Ah... why?" the Crown Prince was looking at all the men and women on the ground.
They were all there for him, to kill him so his little brother would be the Crown Prince and his father would always love him for this sacrifice.
But Dan Heng was still alive, and he felt... miserable "What have you done...?" he asked in tears, trying to cover his own face.
The man narrowed his stare "Did you really... you had to die like this? Were you thinking on letting those useless people kill you?" he asked pointing his flaming sword at him and Dan Heng didn't really even care to ask why those flames were blue and similar to his own mana.
Dan Heng was insane, he was crying and in panic.
"I should... have died for my family... for their love... Why... Why am I still alive?" Dan Heng fell on his knees. Nobody there should have died... Only him... It was his destiny. It was the only way to feel loved in that life.
He wanted to close his eyes knowing his family loved him.
"You dare.... Kneeling and crying... I saved you, you should... be thankful" the voice of the man sounded so mad. He was in disbelief "Humans... Humans beg for their lives, beg for even... even one day more yet you... You yearn for death... even when I have saved you... This is pathetic."
"It was my destiny... It was my destiny to die for my family" Dan Heng was lost in his insanity. His blue eyes locked on the man and smiled "You're... you're still alive, kill me, do it... please, please!"
