"Duke"
Blade for a moment was looking up. His gaze was focus on the window where he knew Dan Heng's chamber was. He sighed heavily desiring only to be with him, even just to watch over him in his sleep.
He turned towards Jing Yuan and the other Royal Generals focus on checking the reports of all the soldiers they sent through the capital.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Evias shouting made everyone roll their eyes and turn, seeing the vampires helping out the soldiers, carrying heavy stuff by disappearing and reappearing. Fenir was one of the few vampires trying to annoy the elves.
"Hey hey! I understand elves and vampires have something close to sexual tension, but you're under the North Family watch so...!" the elves and the vampires coming from the portals Umi opened, looked at the owner of the North locking her shiny red eyes on them with a smirk "You better not messing up, we're all preparing to witness the change of an Era..." Layla had hearts around but her eyes looked like she was about to kill everyone who would lose those seconds just to smell the elves' blood or shooting arrows at those blood suckers.
The elves, vampires looked at the other creatures coming and sighed a little in disbelief.
The only reason they came in the capital was just because it was an order from Ying, the owner of the North. The North Family was basically the wall between the creatures and the executions demanded by the previous Emperor.
"Great job, my love. They surely have higher morale to work!" Ying smiled proudly next to Layla who gave her husband some pats
"We still have much to do... Everything must be perfect!" Layla got closer to the Royal Generals and Blade "So... how's the preparation of the audience room going?"
Jing Yuan was perplexed "The more I see how the officials wanted the incoronation to be celebrated... the more I feel... something off about it"
Blade sighed and crossed his arms "Even if we called some help, we should just postpone the incoronation of a day or two... We don't even know if Dan Heng is ready" he muttered and Jing Yuan tilted his head
"Of course he's ready."
Blade narrowed his stare to then smirk "You hadn't hold him. He was trembling, his body was exhausted" he sighed once he noticed the Royal Generals having the same expression of Jing Yuan.
"The Nation needs an Emperor. All the officials are dead, we truly can't leave the audience room without anyone who holds power." his golden eyes locked into those red evil eyes "And I fear someone might think Dan Heng is better off the throne."
Blade let out a laugh as Ying and Layla were staring at the two along with the Royal Generals.
"Fret not, if I plan to kidnap his Majesty I won't be a fool and say it in front of his beloved General" Blade tilted his head, crossing his arms "I am sure you're already thinking, dreaming to see Dan Heng in this palace, so close to you." he sang innocently
"Dreaming? Absolutely not" Jing Yuan smiled gently "How can one say dreaming when it's going to happen from tomorrow?" he opened his golden eyes "We're both on his Majesty side, are we not?"
Layla sighed heavily and put herself between the two when Blade grit his teeth, feeling like an uncle was silently scolding him, but in the end... Jing Yuan was right.
