"How... how... Why..." Haru was stroking his own hair and laughing in disbelief as he still couldn't understand how he did end up in the dirty dungeons of the manor.
There was no one else.
Everyone was dead.
Jing Yuan and the Royal Generals couldn't even dare to call out the North Family when they opened the gates to the Emperor's harem.
Blade sadly got there before them.
And all the women were dead, with their maids too.
The last of the Emperor's line, to the country, was only Dan Heng now. Blade made sure to kill everyone related to Dan Heng, leaving the golden child ripped off any blood relation or possible ones. After all the duke didn't question if any of the Emperor's wives was pregnant or was hiding a bastard.
Who cares? Dan Heng had to appear the as the only one, the closest to what people would call God to Blade's eyes, hence those who might have shared bloodline had to disappear. Blade was so insanely in love with Dan Heng and loyal to the concept of the Emperor being a perfect being that he didn't question anything in his mind as he was killing those inside the harem.
"The North Family..." Jing Yuan sighed heavily at the sight of the harem totally destroyed like an army just passed by "Really showed no mercy..." he sighed heavily looking at the concubines, maids and even eunuchs left to bleed to death "Insane... I can't blame whoever says they're indeed... like wild beasts when it's about... war." the Royal Guard general felt a little fear, and that's how he found himself walking fast towards the dungeons to check on Haru.
"Is the plan to keep the prince there till...?" one of the Royal Generals spoke, walking next to Jing Yuan, who was also focus on looking at what the North soldiers were doing.
For a side it felt like the Imperial Palace truly was invaded and conquered by the North, if it wasn't that they were actually helping cleaning up the mess and actually prepare for the big event of the next day.
If for a certain reason, the North Family wanted to flip the situation, Jing Yuan and the Royal Guards were surely lower in terms of numbers, they would have lost.
And Dan Heng would have been imprisoned in yet another twisted destiny.
The golden eyes of the general for a moment locked on Luocha standing on a branch of one of the big trees of the Palace immense gardens. Elves at his command would nod and disappear in a blink, following unheard, unknown orders.
Luocha's pointy ears flinched for a moment and he turned towards his side, smirking as he noticed the general with the stare locked on his figure.
They were surrounded.
Jing Yuan sighed heavily. He couldn't help but feeling worried something might happen still.
When they reached the dungeons, Haru stand up from the ground and held the bars of the cells strongly "LET ME OUT. I AM THE PRINCE!" he shouted to then laugh in disbelief "Jing Yuan... I can't believe you turned on me"
"You knew it since years I wasn't playing blind with your plans to get Dan Heng's blood even when you were younger." Jing Yuan's tone was harsh and serious. Haru laughed, he looked totally insane like he had lost his mind.
"You need me on the throne. ME!" he shouted "Dan Heng is just good to be a puppet, you all... You, royal generals, YOU SHOULD KNOW!" he pointed the fingers at them behind the bars "He will be the doom of our Empire, just like my father knew from the prophecy!"
"He won't. The Crown Prince will ascend tomorrow. He will be the Emperor of a new Era where the harmony between creatures will be restored" Jing Yuan spoke calmly, showing a soft smile "He has strong allies."
