27. Monster...?

After a break in silence inside the studio. Jing Yuan stand up, trying to finally wrap the whole situation up.

"I will go back to the Emperor... and I will just say you don't know he's the Crown Prince and you're already started the engagement"

"I think it's the best for now" Ying spoke still shocked by all those information "We must find a way to get the Crown Prince... to a position he's untouchable and be sure he will be on the throne. He needs the North Family strenght"

Blade sighed heavily as he was still holding Dan Heng in his arms. He could feel him totally lost in his thoughts. 

Dan Heng shook his head "No, I will come with you Jing Yuan" he said and everyone's eyes opened up

"Are you insane?! He will surely send you back to Azarus Lands!"

Dan Heng crossed his arms "Not if I... expose the North Family secrets."

Ying, Layla and Blade tilted their heads and Dan Heng got off Blade's embrace to walk and stay next to Jing Yuan "My father never wanted your doom. I am sure of it. But my brother... He... He knows even if I die, he will be weak compared to our father because since he has been hiding us for such a long time it's obvious we do not hold much reputation." he crossed his arms "To his eyes, I have lived with you, he knows I love them... and I will surely be on their side no matter what. That's why he will believe me and keep me in the Palace for a while"

"Till when?" Blade asked madly "Till when you're planning to do this? We will be... far away, I won't be able to protect you"

Dan Heng looked at Jing Yuan to then shook his head "As far as I know the generals of the Royal Guards know I am the current Crown Prince. I will make sure to build... reputation"

"How long is it gonna take?!"

"Blade." Dan Heng's eyes were literally begging him to calm down. Blade was feeling mad, sad, awful. 

Why was Dan Heng deciding that. Why did he want to go back... he could...

He could have locked him in his manor.

And wait for the Emperor to send... anything, anyone.

He would have killed them all.

Jing Yuan smiled proudly. It felt so nice to see Dan Heng finally standing up for himself "I swear I will support him and protect him"

Blade looked at Dan Heng, who reached out for his hands "Blade, I must do something. You know I just can't stay here. I am the Crown Prince, I must do something."

Blade's eyes were flaming, but he also couldn't say anything. He grabbed his hand and leant it on the cheeks like he was seeking for something... comfort "I can't even... send my bloodbirds there... I won't be able to see you at all... is that really okay for you?"

Dan Heng's tilted his head, to then smile with his eyes a little teary "What do you think? This place... you... felt like home... I am so thankful for that" he caressed his cheeks "But it's because you made me... feel like there was still hope if now I do... want to help, I want... to change my timeline this time... at least trying."

Blade closed his eyes to then sigh "Behind that... hopeless Crown Prince I met on his death bed... There's such a brave man I long for... and I will always be devoted to" he kissed his hand.

"Shouldn't we go outside?" Fenir raised a little his hand and Blade rolled his eyes to then cough and get some distance from Dan Heng

Umi crossed his arms "I will keep an eye as well. Our beloved Crown Prince has unstable mana and the Emperor has appointed me to check on him..." he shrug "I am sure he will be worried about it considering he doesn't know I have found you" he winked "Fret not, Duke, the Crown Prince has more allies than you think"
