Time was distorted for the longest time. What felt like a couple weeks turned out to be 7 years. Everyone knows that nothing stays the same. Especially not after 7 years.

People grow. They learn new things. Meet new people. And the things they once loved becomes just a memory.

"How am I being selfish?"

Nolan: "It's been a long time! And you expect me to just drop everything and pick up where we left off, right?"

"That's not it. See things my way-"

Nolan: "Yeah, it's always about you, isn't it?"

"It's not! I'm just trying to fix what's broken."

Nolan: "It wouldn't be broken in the first place if so much time hadn't passed by!"

"Oh, so you're blaming me?"

Nolan: "No! I.. I don't know!"

"I don't understand what's so hard about this. I know it's been a while, but you're all I know! I still love you!"

Nolan: "Well, maybe I don't love you! Okay?!"

Although he was yelling, his eyes looked sad. He crossed his arms in an attempt to hide his shaky hands.

I felt like dying.

A head peaked into the office and announced that Nolan had a caller on line 1.

Nolan: "Just go, Louis. I have more important things to deal with right now."

He turned his back to me and began stacking some papers from his desk.

I said nothing. If I stayed any longer, it would've broken me.
So I left.

Due to a heart surgery I had, I fell into a coma. A coma that lasted way too long.

Nolan wouldn't tell me why we couldn't be together. I thought maybe he loved someone else. Or maybe he just wasn't the same person anymore.

All I knew was that he'd been avoiding me since I woke up.

~~~
"2 weeks."
Mandy: "2 weeks since you woke up? Feels longer than that.."
Mandy was a girl with dark skin and dark pink hair. I've known her all her life. I didn't always treat her good, but she was still somehow there for me when it mattered.
She adjusted her glasses and sat up in her doctors chair.
Mandy: "How are you doing? Mentally?"
"Fine."
Mandy: "Heather and I were talking and we wanted to invite you to hangout with us."
I looked at her. I was never really invited to hangouts.
Mandy: "Not sure if you're interested in that kind of thing, but it's just a thing us girls do to get our mind off of everything. We're going to dinner.  Then Heather wants to hang out at her house. She has movies and games for us to play!"
She giggled to herself.
I looked back down at a poster on the wall. I didn't have the energy to go out and socialize. Since Nolan and I had that fight, all I've wanted to do is sleep.
Mandy: "C'mon.. it'll help you feel better. Make you feel like a person again."
"He won't be there, right?"
Mandy: "You mean Nolan? No, it's just us girls. Heather, Lydia, Oliva, Kitty, Tuesday and I. Just say yes. You can always leave if you really don't like it."
