(Nolan's POV)
"Again? What did it say this time?"
Jason: "Death to gays. Sir. 'Death' was spelled D-E-T-H."
Once again, someone had spray painted the outside of my office again.
"Maybe we should get a camera or something?"
Jason: "Excellent idea, sir. Except.. you spent the extra money already, didn't you?"
His hands stayed behind his back and he looked down at me in disapproval. As mayor, I didn't handle the money directly. But I suppose I get carried away with donations when it comes to the animal shelters and food banks. I thought that places like that needed the most support, but I guess he didn't agree.
Jason: "By the way, Mr. Damer is requesting an audience with you. Again."
"Uh.. Tell him I can't talk right now."
Jason: "He's being very persistent, sir."
I sighed and held the sides of my head.
"Fine. But have security ready, please.. In case something happens."
Jason nodded and left through the door. He worked for Ox originally as an assistant. I sort of inherited him when I became mayor. He didn't seem to like me that much but he always got the job done and did what I asked.
I sat up in my chair and exhaled a breath of air.
Michael: "Finally. Your guys wouldn't let me in."
A guy with blue hair and pale skin suddenly strolled into the room with a rose bouquet.
He finally got it through and set it down on one of the chairs in my office.
"Look, um... You're not gonna win me over with flowers or chocolates so stop it. Okay?"
He stood in front of my desk and looked down at the letters I had.
Michael: "Aw, come on dollface. Give me a chance."
He picked up one of my fanmail letters and looked at it.
I immediately stood up and snatched the letter back.
"No. And don't call me that. I'm busy, so if you're done you're free to leave."
According to him, he'd remembered some of our past. Unfortunately for me, he'd only remembered the good parts.
Michael: "Don't be like that.. remember our second date? Cause I do.. I think."
"Don't talk to me about our second date."
Michael: "It was at an arcade, right?"
I wasn't looking at him anymore. I put all the letters in a pile and began to organize the fanmail, hate mail, and business proposals.
Michael: "Remember the race game? You kept winning against me. Then we played the basketball one. You sucked at that one. And we got milkshakes after.."
"Stop it.."
Michael: "I think you got chocolate. I got Strawberry. Then we had our first kiss right?"
"I SAID STOP IT!"
He flinched and moved away from me. My voice started breaking.
"I don't want to HEAR about it. I tell you to stop and you never care. Even now, you don't. I don't give a damn about what you remember. I don't want to hear it. You think about them and get happy. I think about them and I want to die! I don't want to think about how stupid I was, so stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!"
It was silent for a long time. Even my workers outside were dead silent. I realized the door was open and they'd probably heard me.
My heart dropped. I felt like I was going crazy.
