(Lou's POV)

Nolan: "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I don't mind."

Nolan: "I'd usually ask Moxy or Mandy, but they can't today I have work, and then I have an appointment and-"

"It's okay. Don't worry."

I rubbed his shoulder and spoke as softly as I could. The brunette smiled at me and took a deep breath.

"Go ahead. I'll watch the kid."

Nolan: "Okay. But call me if you need anything."

Nolan wandered over to the small child who was sitting at the dining table.

Nolan: "I'll be back in the afternoon. Behave for Lou, okay?"

The little boy nodded with a mouth full of pancakes.

Nolan: "Aw, my baby~"

He kissed Lachlan's forehead a million times and came back towards me. I hoped I would get a kiss too.

Nolan: "Thanks so much, Lou. I really appreciate it."

"Happy to help."

He got onto his tip toes and kissed me on the lips. I smiled and held his waist so it lasted a little longer. He held my cheek and smiled.

Nolan: "See you later?"

I nodded.
"Have a great day."

He opened the door and waved.

Nolan: "Bye Lachlan! Bye, Lou!"

We waved goodbye and he was finally gone out the door. I wandered over to the window and watched as he walked away into the distance. Lachlan tried to watch from his chair, too.

I sighed and told myself that watching a child shouldn't be that hard. Just gotta make them your best friend, right?

Lachlan: "Mister Lou, can I have another one? Pretty please."

I turned my head and then made my way over to the kitchen.

"One more? Or two?"

Lachlan: "Two."

"Two? Are you sure? You already had three!"

I tried to sound playful like Nolan did.

"How about I give you one for now, and if you want another one then I'll get another, okay?"

Lachlan: Okay..

I put one pancake on his plate and he poured the syrup.

Lachlan: "Thank you!"

I sighed and sat down next to him with a cup of tea. 

Lachlan: "Mister Lou?"

"Mhm?"

Lachlan: "Can I be big and tall like you when I grow up?"

I thought about it. In technicality, the probability of him reaching my height was high since he shared my genes, although by looking at his appearance, he seems to have taken after Nolan more and therefore he would probably be Nolan's height so about 5'6, but then again if Lachlan attended gym or did sports it would influence his potential for growth and he probably could get to my height. Though he didn't look very athletic.
