The next morning, I woke up early like usual.
I was sitting at my table drinking tastless coffee when I was looking around my phone, trying to figure it out. It was about 10am and a couple birds were chirping happily outside.

While looking through my phone I came across some saved photos and old screenshots of wedding decor from Pinterest.

"Maybe I should start thinking about how I'll propose this time. It can't be the same way I did before... but it should still be romantic."

I thought some more until I heard a knock at my door.
I got up to answer and to my surprise, my favorite person in the whole world.

Nolan: "Good morning!"

"Hey, you~"

I wanted to hug him, but I looked down at a plastic container he was holding.

".. What's this?"

He blushed and held it out for me to take.

Nolan: "I.. made some cupcakes for you. I woke up early so I could make them fresh, but then I had to remake the batch because I put salt instead of sugar... I hope you like them!"

I removed the lid and saw 3 adorable cupcakes with messy icing and colorful sprinkles. He came inside and the door shut behind him softly.

"You made these?"

Nolan: "Yep! I kind of took up baking a couple years ago so I thought I'd make you something!"

I bit into one and began to judge its taste. Nolan waited silently in anticipation. I guess he remembered that I had a history of being a harsh critic.

But the amount of vanilla extract was perfect and the sprinkles added a nice texture to the spongey base of the cake. I didn't usually eat sugar first thing in the morning, but I couldn't resist finishing the whole cupcake. I hummed in approval.

"These are really good. Thank you. Wow.."

He smiled happily while I licked my lips. I closed the lid and decided to save the other 2 for later. He suddenly did jazz hands and some kind of dorky dance move.

Nolan: "Happy Birthday!!!"

My brain rushed around trying to figure out the date. Ever since I had woken up from my coma, my sense of time was off.

I smiled.
"Thank you.. It is my birthday, isnt it? You remembered."

He nodded eagerly and hugged me.

Nolan: "Of course I did! So, do you want to go out for a bit? Where do you want to go? Anything you want today, we'll do it."

I kept smiling. I probably looked stupid, but Nolan's love was something I could barely handle sometimes. How can someone be so cute and cheerful?

"Well.. maybe we could go have breakfast? I had coffee but it wasn't satisfying to be honest."

Nolan: "Let's go, then! I'm paying, okay?"

"Sure, but.. let me change clothes first?"

He looked down at my pijama pants and agreed. When I was ready, we finally got out of the house. Nolan even took my keys and locked the door for me. At least, I think he did.

We went to a cafe and had some egg and bacon sandwiches. When I told Nolan about how coffee didn't taste right anymore, he gave me some of his favorite Orange Pekoe Tea. And for some reason, it was amazing. Better than coffee.

We walked around the mall and Nolan refused to let me pay for anything. Flowers, lunch.. not even an ice cream cone. He paid for it all.

He kept checking his phone every hour, but other than that, he spent every minute spoiling me and making me laugh at the stupidest things. Things I used to roll my eyes and complain about. It amazing the affects someone like Nolan can have on you.
