Christmas at Hogwarts

Snow fell delicately from the sky, obscuring the view from the castle's massive windows, they looked they could crack at a sole touch, as gentle as it was.
The Greathall was decorated with Christmas decor all around, the representation of snow and clouds were presented high in the ceiling, above the students who sat below eating their last dinner before they'd go back home for a while the next day. The feast was filled with different types of foods, golden plates and cups and utensils.
The first years seemed to be the happiest as they chugged their food down their throat, while the seventh years looked different, one was happy, one looked as if they witnessed a tragic occurrence.
And some looked normal, no hard feelings in their own being.
Lana looked over to the Hufflepuff table a few times, getting a full look on Jason who sat besides Theseus who looked down at his food.
Amal only lifted her gaze to glance at Lana and she always found her looking there.
Amal looked over to see if the couple were communicating and she instead, found his eyes looking back at her and both stayed like that for a minute before Amal gave him a smile and looked away and spoke to Lana "Lala, you'll see him during holidays, you're going to his house, am I right?"
"Yes, yes I am. But isn't he so," she looked at Amal and let our a small groan and muttered "I'm marrying this boy one day".

"I'm happy you're happy" said Amal.
"Yeah but, I'm not happy that date of yours didn't work out" Lana admitted and Amal scoffed and shook her head.
"You know what he said-"
"Yes, yes I know. We can always find someone else" Lana narrowed her eyes and placed a hand on Amal's shoulder.
"He was sweet at first, you said it yourself".
"Yes, at first. But it didn't last long".

Two weeks ago

Lana ran her hands through Amal's wardrobe in search for something nice and warm to wear. Lana grinned the whole time excited for her friend's first date as the girl in question stood over the bathroom's mirror applying some make-up.
She had trimmed the ends of her hair, resulting in it looking shiny and darker.
The girl applied kohl and lip liner last before walking out and still finding Lana with her head inside her wardrobe, Amal giggled and walked over to stand besides her and waited to see what her friend would pull out.
Lana then shook her head and rushed to her wardrobe and poked her head inside an pulled a black long-sleeved shirt, wide at the end of the waist and sleeves while being tight at the chest.
The, Lana pulled out from Amal's wardrobe straight jeans. Amal placed her hands on her wide hips and watched Lana as she pulled out a pair of black boots and a black coat.
"It's just a date, I'll be over dresses like this" Amal chuckled after she spoke and Lana shook her head "It's not just a date. It's your first and it's perfectly fine, look this will look heavenly on you, Am. Go on, yalla go wear it" Amal turned around and turned back to stare at her friend when she heard 'yalla'.
"Since when do speak like me, Lala?"
"Go change!"

The boy Lana had pushed her to go on a first date with was a boy Jason knew quite well.
Alex Revender, a seventh year, a Ravenclaw, and a brown haired boy who was also quite tall.
Amal did not think he was bad looking, he looked nice, had sharp features and she really thought he could have been the one.
But soon enough, Amal walked out of the bathroom and the girls made their way outside.
"I'm nervous" muttered Amal as they reached outside, Lana squeezed her hand and held onto it before she reassured her "It's normal. Nothing will happen, if you need anything, you'll probably find me and Jason and Theseus inside Honeydukes or wherever you are".
At his name, Amal's heart slipped a beat and she wished she hadn't heard it.
"Let me guess, you'll force them inside the shop, yeah?"
"Oh please, they come with me inside voluntarily. And I don't think something bad will happen, Jason knows him very well, Am. Do not worry about him. Unless you're worried about something else?"
"No".
