Amal stood before the mirror as she stared at herself and smiled when she noticed the scars looked less visible, she then turned to grab the long black skirt and long sleeves shirt from her closet and wore them with her back turned to the door, she then decided top wear ballet flats, the ones she loved wearing when younger. It didn't take her too long to get ready for the night, she made her face look less tired and more lively.
She kept her hair in a long braid and before she walked out of her apartment, she looked twice in the mirror.
She was nearly going to look a third time to see if she had something wrong on her face but decided against that and once she stepped in the elevator, she transported herself near Lana's house.
She walked towards the florist and bought a bouquet of tulips and a small   bouquet of roses for Junia.
The sun was setting, as it left behind its colours and took its light with it.
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and sighed as she approached Lana's building and decided to take the stairs.
Her footsteps echoed as she did so and reached to door.
She took a deep breath in and rung the bell.
The door clicked as the handle turned and revealed Jason, whose face lightened up as soon as his eyes met hers.
"Amal!" he said excitingly and took a step forward to hug her but heard someone clear their throat from behind, Amal shook her head with a smile and wrapped her arms around him squeezing him before letting go.
"I miss you! How have you been?" she smiled and Jason did too as he moved from the doorway as he let her inside.
"I'm fine, very much actually. How have you been?" he asked.
"Good, good, how's my Junia?" Amal asked and heard footsteps coming from the corridor, fast footsteps.
Lana walked towards Amal and hugged her gently "These are for you" Amal handed her the tulips, Lana muttered a thank you and inhale their scent.
Then, Junia came into view, she smiled widely, revealing her one missing tooth at the front, Amal chuckled and bent down to hand her the bouquet of roses "For me?" she said in a small voice and suppressed a smile that made her cheeks pop cutely.
"Only for you".
"What about me!?" Jason asked and frowned "I too would've liked some flowers!" he said acting offended, the girls shared a look before laughing.
Amal smiled and told him "Well, Jason. Now that I know I promise to buy you flowers".

She sighed, a sigh of relief, all of this felt familiar to her, and she embraced it as much as she could in that moment. She took of her coat and placed it along with her bag on the table placed besides the door.
She followed then Lana to the kitchen, and as soon as she stepped in she smelt the smell of delicious food.
Lana turned around "So, I'll tell you the menu today" she said, Amal leaned on the counter and listened.
"Yellow rice with chicken, pasta and soup" the woman smiled excitingly and clapped her hands and Amal tilted her head "That sounds so good, but we're three adults and a child, isn't it too much?"
Lana's face fell as if she hadn't told something to Amal earlier that day when she invited her over.
Amal raised her eyebrows expecting an answer but hadn't receive any when the door opened from the living room and heard Jason say hello loudly and happily.
"Lana?" Amal asked and stayed in place, heading footsteps approach by the second, heavy footsteps.
"Don't be mad, please Amal, you know I love you, please" Lana whispered and pleaded, bringing her hands together as if she were praying.
Amal was confused, and was about to ask something when she heard Jason yell "Like the old times!".
Amal's shoulders stiffened as she slowly turned around and her eyes, for the first time in years, have found his.
Theseus stood behind Jason, who unlike him, had a happy face.
Amal knew that from behind her, Lana had a horrified expression and was almost hissing at Jason to drop that smiley expression for a bit.
Amal swallowed the rock in her throat and relaxed her shoulder and smiled at the guy she knew so well years before, the man she had loved.
"Amal-" Theseus began, but Amal beat him at speaking.
"Hello, Theseus. How have you been?" she said normally, as if she knew nothing of him and as if he knew absolutely nothing of her, but deep down they knew each other's souls. He cleared his throat and nodded before replying to her "I've been well, you?", she tried to regulate her face expression as she smiled tightly and answered "Fine, thank you".
