Chapter 7 - Mall Monster (Haruto's POV)

Apparently summer break was about to start. After summer break begins, Yui's going to start visiting the cafe so that the three of us, Kazuki, Yui and I could go looking for Shiro though I doubt we can find him when I learned Earth's defense force couldn't even find him.

Today was really hot and today was also the weekend so Kazuki decided to take me clothing shopping which I think is a horrible idea because I just want to stay inside but he dragged me out anyway.

"Don't you have a transportation device?"

"You mean a car?"

"Those things that go vroom vroom. Also, do I really need new clothes, I can just wear yours right?"

"Come on, the mall won't be that hot. Besides, you really need new clothes. My clothes are too big on you because you're too short." I had to pin all of Kazuki's pants in order for it to fit or else I'll be dragging them on the floor like a mop. "Come on, I'll get you ice cream later."

"What's ice cream?"

"It's a cold snack and it-I'll buy you some later."

When we walked out the front door, hot air surrounded me.The clothes I was wearing immediately became soaked with sweat. I just wanted to go back inside. I doubt ice cream would be that good. Then, Kazuki grabbed my hand.

"What are you doing?!" I said, pulling my hand back. I wasn't used to holding hands with anyone.

"Holding your hand so you don't get lost. You don't hold hands with your father?"

I thought about it for a moment. How long ago was it that I even walked with father? "Umm no. He's too busy for me."

"Ahh, I see. It's okay if you don't want to hold hands with me. Just don't get lost-"

"No, I do." I quickly said and took Kazuki's hands. I wasn't even sure why myself but I grabbed his sweaty hand in my sweaty hand. Kazuki gave me a slight smile and we walked the rest of the way to the mall in the blazing summer sun.

I was greeted by a blast of cool air when we walked in the automatic door of the mall. It felt so nice against my now tanned skin. I had never been to a mall. As a matter of fact, I haven't been shopping in stores for a long time since I shopped online. I was amazed by how big the store is and the strange, moving stairs.

"There are so many stores!" I exclaimed. I am so excited to explore this place.

"Indeed, a mall is a place where there are multiple stores built in one. Come on, let's go. I'll buy you ice cream at the food court later."

We walked into a big store and there were quite a lot of people. I thought they were going to take one look at me and sooner or later, someone would call out ALIEN and my identity would be busted and my life would be over but thankfully that didn't happen. Kazuki picked up some clothing, measured it and told me to change into it at the changing rooms.

"Changing rooms? Did we pay for it yet?"

"No."

"Ehh?! Are we stealing?!"

"What? No, you're just trying them on."

"Ohhh. That makes sense."

We didn't have changing rooms back on Sora so I was a little confused but it's okay now because we're at the cash register paying for it. Kazuki said red looks the best on me. He says it really brings out the color of my face or something. I agree. My favorite color is red too.

When we were walking to the food court to get some ice cream, I spotted a dog sized creature.

"Kazuki, that's a strange dog."
