Chapter 14 - Third Wheeling (Haruto's POV)

 I woke up to find myself sitting on a chair in an empty warehouse. I tried lifting my arms but they were numb. I tried my legs next but it was the same result. I looked around to get more clues of where I could be when I realized I could still move my head. I tried opening my mouth to yell for help but found no words came out. Okay, okay, so let me get this straight, I can only move my head, make facial expressions but can't speak. Escaping this is going to be way harder than I thought. I looked over at father to see what he's feeling but he only looked sleepy.

I started trying to get father's attention. I started blinking and making eye contact with him. It took quite a while but he finally looked at me. I shot him a "where are we" look. He raised one of his eyebrows. I shot him the look again. He gave me a confused look and mouthed "what". If I could hit my head with my palm, I would. I mouthed him "where are we" and that's when he finally realized what I was trying to say. He mouthed back "I don't know". Just then, Katsunori walked in.

"So, you must have been wondering why I kidnapped you. You see the device on your wrist?" He paused and gave us a second to look. The device was a bracelet made of woven leather. In the center, there was a rock-like material and in the center of the rock-like material, there was a gem. It looks familiar, kind of like the gem of the angler fish monster! And the leather, it was from the snake and I assumed the rock's from the horn of the mother monster. Katsunori was using me to collect supplies for the device! He looked at my stunned expression. "Yes Haruto, you may have realized it looks familiar." He smirked. "Thank you Haruto and of course you, Kaito. I was about to think you wouldn't come."

He walked over and looked down at father. "Thank you for coming, Kaito. Now, what will I use both of you for?" He started slowly pacing around the room. "Naive Sorians. They say they are kind and have empathy. Those are all lies. I'm going to make them know what it's like to be misunderstood. You two are going to attack the planet Susumu and that would lead to a war between the Susumus and the Sorians. Even if the Susumus don't win, Sora would be in great damage and-"

He stopped talking when he heard the sound of a stomach growling. "Are you two hungry?" He asked.

We both nodded our heads. Okay, so my plan right now is to act all innocent and pray that someone rescues us before we have to go destroy or attack that planet and end up causing a war. I looked over at father who was blinking his eyes, trying not to fall asleep. I looked back at Katsunori who sighed.

"Alright then, let's go." He said and motioned for us to follow him.

That's when my arms and legs weren't numb anymore. That's our chance to escape! I stood up, grabbed father's wrist and dragged him to the door. I was about to step outside when a wave of pain shocked through my whole body, making me fall. "Ehh?! What did you do to me, Katsunori?!"

"Did I forget to tell you? You aren't free, you're still under my control so don't try to do any stupid things." Katsunori said, walking over.

"You devil!" I ran over and grabbed his shirt but the wave of pain came again and I fell onto my knees. I could already see the bruises forming where my knees hit the ground. "It's the bracelet isn't it?"

Katsunori laughed. "Of course it is. How could you be so ignorant, making the same mistake again?"

Father helped me up and dusted the dust off my clothes. "Alright, where are we going?"

I looked over at the clothes we're wearing. It was the pajamas from yesterday. "Father, we can't go! We're wearing pajamas and we haven't even brushed our teeth!"
