Chapter 8 - Sharotto (Haruto's POV)

Kazuki and I were working today. There were still a few more days until summer break and we (Yui, Kazuki and I) decided that we will start tracking down Shiro when it officially starts.

I have already worked here for about a week now and I think I like the cafe. Most people are nice and I'm slowly getting better at the job (And finally learned the difference between cappuccino and latte). Everything has been going fine until a strange, Asian woman walks through the door.

She's a skinny woman who looks like she's in her fifties. Her hair was tied in a bun and she wore sunglasses and a t-shirt that had an alien design on it. She looked around the cafe suspiciously like she was looking for something. That's when she saw me. She took one good look at me, I took one good look at her and we both realized we're staring at an alien. Her energy signal is kind of familiar. Kind of like a Sorian's but not quite.

"Kaito?!" She shouted and ran over to me. Her words are full of a strange accent that isn't a Sorian accent. "When did you become this short?" The woman propped her sunglasses up her hair to reveal a pair of long, upturned eyes. They look quite familiar but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

"Ehh? Sorry Miss but how do you know Kaito?"

"Ehh? You're not Kaito? Are you not from Sora?"

"Ahh Miss, you're from Sora! Finally I found someone from Sora!" I was extremely excited to see another Sorian (Other than Katsunori because he sucks)! "Ahh, that's why your energy signal's different!"

"Hmm, you're not Kaito. You look like him. You know who Kaito is?"

"Ahh, Miss, he's my father!"

"Ehh?! You're Kaito's son?!" She looked at me. "Hmm, I expected Kaito's son to be taller but okay. What are you doing here?" She is literally the same height I am. I'm deeply offended.

"I got reincarnated here Miss. I died in a battle."

"Hmm, that's good that you came back. Do you want me to transfer you back?" It was really nice of her because opening a portal takes a lot of energy.

"Umm, no thank you Miss. I have to rescue someone from...umm..." I wasn't sure if I should mention Katsunori because everyone thought he died during the fight with father.

"Who? Tell me mister." She looked stern, almost like a mother.

"Um... it's..."

"Is it Katsunori?" She sounded annoyed.

"Yes, well you see, he kind of kidnapped my friend and might be terrorizing Earth so I kind of have to stay here to prevent him from destroying it. I don't even know what he's doing. All I know is it's bad."

The woman sighs. "That kid..."

"Do you know Katsunori?"

"He's my son. That kid went down the wrong route."

That's when I realized why the eyes seemed so familiar. Katsunori had his mother's long eyes.

"Oh. What are you here for then Miss? To stop him?"

"I just want to talk to him, that's all. He left suddenly years ago. No goodbye, no notice, just left. He returned yesterday though, not to say hi to me, not to say hi to his brother but to get his science equipment in the attic. Caught him digging through boxes. When he got caught, no bye or hi, he just opened a portal and left. This kid's so rude." She said, sounding very annoyed.
