Kayla POV

I woke up on a couch I had never seen before in my life. My father was standing by the window engrossed with whatever was outside. I looked around the large room, there was another black couch a little larger than the one I was on, adjacent to me. Family pictures covered the walls, I only recognized one person in them; Bryson. Alright, I was at Bryson's house. I sat up and set my feet down on the soft white carpet, in front of me sat a small glass coffee table, covered in my father's medical supplies.

"Dad." I said, recieving no response.

I got up and walked over to the same window my dad was at, it took up most of the wall and had large white curtains around it, I immediately gasped when I looked out. There were two huge wolves standing in the yard with four people who I didn't know.

"Kayla!" My dad said shocked, "Why are you up?"

"I think the question is why the hell are there wolves outside?" I screeched.

My father looked from me to the window and then repeated it. I could tell he was nervous, which meant he knew exactly what was going on. My dad's quick intake of breath had my eyes whipping out the window.

I watched Bryson and Zane go from wolf to boy. HOLY SHIT BISCUITS! Before I knew what I was doing, I ran to the door, ignoring my father telling me to come back.

I made it to the porch just as the boys were heading in. Oh god, the boy I have a crush on is a wolf, so is his friend, and I am pretty sure my dad knows about all of this. Where did the other people go? Did the boys eat them? Oh my god! I bet they ate them! Oh, no! I don't wanna be eaten!

"Kayla?" Bryson asked, sounding really desperate.

I almost started towards him but I shook my head clear of the fog and started backing up. I don't want to be desert! I quickly looked around and saw that I was a few feet from a small trail that led into the woods. I took one more look at the boys before I turned and hauled ass into the woods.

"Kayla! Wait!" I heard Bryson yell. He sounded like he was in pain and just the thought of him being hurt made my chest feel heavy. As a few tears fell down my face I pushed back the pain and ran off the trail.

_____________

I couldn't run anymore, I couldn't catch my breath because I was crying. I looked to my left and saw a small stream with rocks and trees lining it. I walked over and knelt by the edge, cupping my hands and filling them with water, I splashed it on my face. What the hell is going on in my damn neighborhood? I sat down by the edge of the water and thought back. It was weird when our previous neighbor Paul died, my parents started acting weird, and so did the kids at school. Then a new guy moved in, my parents acted like he was Batman or something and all the kids at school went back to normal. Now, boys turn into wolves, or wolves turn into boys, I don't know. I had dismissed all the previous weird things before but now I wished I hadn't.

"Be careful by the edge Kayla" a strong, but soft feminine voice said from behind me.

I whipped around to find a tall, Asian girl with soft brown eyes smiling at me. Her hair was long and curly with orange, blue, pink and blonde highlights. She was very pretty and at least eighteen years old or so. She had on a black tube top, white and black striped leggings and black combat boots that reached mid-calf.

"Who are you?" I asked.

There was something very calming about her, like I had known her or I know her now. My head was so confused.

"Well, that's going to take some explaining, and hopefully I can get through all of it before your mate finds us." She said, putting her finger up to her mouth, telling me to be quiet when I was about to interrupt. "I'm Arrisa, I'm a witch, your witch to be exact." She smiled. "I know I am blowing your mind right now, but it's necessary. I'm here because the supernatural world has been thrown off balance. I will not go into detail yet because you're not ready, but I will tell you that I am here to help you and you can't get rid of me."
