Kayla POV
"What?" Bryson, Zane, and Arissa all said in unison. I just stared.
We were still standing in the backyard of the pack house. Everyone was crowded around us, ready to attack if needed. It was an oddly comforting feeling.
"It's a long story, can we go inside?" Michelle asked.
Could we go inside? Could we take two unknown witches into our pack house and expect nothing to go wrong? Oh no, we had to make a decision, this was what I was worried about. There were way too many outcomes to consider and if we made the wrong choice everyone could die, or we end up looking like scared idiots.
Bryson glanced over at me and I did the only thing I could; I shrugged. I know, super helpful.
"Alright, but remember we already have a witch, and she will do whatever necessary if you don't act right," Bryson said motioning to Arissa.
Arissa stood taller and smirked over at the two girls, she looked so powerful.
"Oh, and I'm crazy, so there's that," I added for good measure, eventually someone was going to acknowledge that crazy was effective.
I held my head high and motioned for our small group to go towards the house. Bryson shot me an amused smile as he passed by and then lead the way inside.
"You should twitch when you mention you're craziness," Arissa whispered to me.
I nodded approvingly, that was an amazing idea. Arissa laughed and shook her head when she realized I had taken her seriously. I was totally going to try it next time.
Once we walked into the house Bryson let Zane take the lead. We ended up in what looked like a conference room. A long dark brown rectangular table took up the middle of the room, a large official looking chair sat at the top, with smaller office chairs taking up the sides.
Bryson, of course, took the big seat. I took the first seat next to him, then Arissa, then Zane. The two witches sat directly across from me. They looked at ease, smiling calmly at us.
"You should probably tell us that story now," Bryson said.
"Well," Michelle began, "we were approached by a male witch named Dominic. He told us that they were starting some revolution, and that they had wolves on their side. He said that eventually they would own the whole state of Oregon. He wanted us to join them."
"You said no, obviously." I said.
"Yes, that's right. They are users of dark magic, they are cloaked in evil." She replied, "That's why we said no."
"Do you know what wolves they were with?" Bryson asked.
"No, all he told me was that a powerful pack was falling. Through the grape vine, we heard you were attacked, and we want to help you stop this before it becomes worse."
I was speechless, in less than an hour, three witches managed to give us more information than we had been able to find in a week, and we had a whole pack of wolves working on it.
I looked over at Bryson to see that he was sharing the same look of shock and confusion that Arissa and Zane were. It turned out we were all speechless.
"Did they tell you anything else?" I asked, thinking about the missing girls.
Michelle shook her head at me and the room fell silent again. It was a weird feeling to have new information that you couldn't do anything with. I was elated with the information, but saddened that they had no more. What could we even do with it?
