Kayla POV
I was sitting in the large office that had once belonged to Bryson's father, the bulky mahogany desk looking even bigger with Bryson sitting behind it. Arissa sat by my side and Zane was perched against the desk next to Bryson.
I was tremendously antsy being so close to Bryson, I hadn't seen him since the funeral yesterday. He apparently had to make calls alerting all surrounding Alphas about his new status.
I probably would have been happy just to sleep on the floor in the same room as him. Ever since we had completed the mating bond, I just wanted to be near him. Actually, I really wanted to see his cute little butt walking around my room in only boxers, or less.
"Kayla, are you even listening?" Bryson asked, pulling me out of my dirty thoughts.
"No, I wasn't," I replied rudely, I was really enjoying my dirty mind and didn't appreciate him taking me out of it.
"What's going on in your head?" Zane asked, furrowing his eyebrows and sniffing at the air.
"Bryson . . . almost naked," I smiled.
Bryson tried to hide his smirk while the other two laughed at me.
'Later,' Bryson said lustfully in my head. I smiled even bigger at his words. 'Try to think of other things, wolves can smell your, um, excitement.'
I immediately blushed and refused to look at Zane, how embarrassing.
"So, as Bryson was saying, the school should be back in commission in about two or three weeks," Zane said slowly towards me.
"Who cares about the school, what about Sadie and the others?" I asked.
"Well," Bryson sighed, "I'm pretty sure the Oakridge pack has the girls, but we searched after the attack and there was nothing in the buildings."
"Not to mention we can't get any scents," Zane added.
I slumped back into my chair, my mood worsening by the second. I was frustrated that my friend was missing, frustrated that we couldn't do anything to find her, and frustrated that I couldn't kick everyone out of this office and rip Bryson's clothes off.
"Kayla," Bryson warned, "stay on topic,"
"Sorry," I mumbled when I realized that I had practically screamed that into his head. I quickly put up my mind block, and focused on the conversation.
"I can't believe that witches are helping wolves, it doesn't make any sense," Arissa said, finally joining the conversation.
"Why doesn't it make sense?" I asked.
"Witches and wolves haven't gotten along in forever, it's like a power struggle. They are both at the top of the supernatural food chain and have been fighting for first place as long as I have been alive."
I sat back and listened to the three throw out ideas as to why the two groups were teaming up. I figured they just wanted to be in charge and banned together. I didn't really think it mattered why, the only thing that mattered was figuring out how to stop them.
I felt the oh so familiar pull of a vision and silently rested my head on the back of the chair in preparation.
I opened my eyes to the familiar view of the woods from the back of the school. I turned around and sure enough, I was standing at the back of the school. I looked back towards the woods and moved forwards, stopping when I saw myself with Arissa, we were walking into forest. Then, I watched Bryson and Zane step out from behind the trees, as wolves, and growl towards us.
