Bryson POV
Kayla: four broken ribs, right shoulder dislocated, left ankle sprained, left side of face swollen and bruised, cuts and bruises covering over 75% of her body, and a total of 12 stitches.
Arisaa: right hand broken, two bruised ribs, 7 stitches, cuts and bruises covering 25% of her body.
Zane and I? Not a scratch. That fact alone was eating us both alive. We were supposed to protect our mates and here they were beaten, mine still unconscious. Arissa was using her magic to help heal herself, Kayla had no magic, so her mother took my blood, and it was currently being pushed through Kayla's veins.
"She said they were there for mates," Arissa said quietly, sitting down next to me on the floor outside of Kayla's room.
Kayla's mom didn't want any of us in there while she was fixing her up. As much as I wanted to be in there holding Kayla's hand, i had to respect her mother.
"Did she say why?" I asked.
"No, she didn't know."
"Well between the four of us we knocked out quite a few of them, I'm sure your dad will bring some back with him," Zane said taking a seat with us.
I let a small smile touch my lips, I knew of only one intruder Kayla took down, but that was enough to make me and my wolf extremely proud. Speaking of my wolf.....
"I need to run," I stated.
"I'll come," Zane said.
He grabbed Arissa's good hand and gave it a squeeze before he got up. She smiled slightly.
"Can you let me know, somehow, when she wakes up?" I asked hopeful.
"I can," she said.
I smiled in thanks and headed towards the back door. My wolf was pissed that he wasn't part of the fight earlier so he was pushing at my skin trying to get out. I suspected that it was the same for Zane.
Zane and I slipped out the back gate, stripping out of our clothes and piling them up on the ground for when we came back. I closed my eyes and let my wolf take over, feeling my bones pop and shift as I landed on all fours.
'Where we off to?' Zane asked in my head.
'I don't care, I just want to run,' I replied.
'Lead the way boss'
I nodded my head and shot off into the forest. We ran hard, cutting through trees, and leaping over streams. Everything became a blur as i pushed myself harder, trying to relieve all my pent up anger.
We had been out running for about an hour when the wind picked up, it was like hurricane force winds but they never touched us.
'Arissa,' Zane sighed.
We stood still and just watched as the wind collected leaves and started swirling them around our paws. Her powers were really beautiful, unless she was angry, that was some scary shit.
I watched closely as the leaves started to settle on the ground, within a few minutes we saw the reason.
'Come back.' They spelt out on the forest floor.
'Wow,' I laughed.
'She's amazing,' Zane agreed.
We wasted no time going back.
Arissa POV
I watched the boys disappear out of the house before I went back to the hall outside of Kayla's room. I wanted to still be angry with Zane, but I didn't have it in me anymore. When I saw him surrounded at the school all my anger towards him shifted to those idiots and I snapped. I hadn't been able to get the anger back since.
