Arissa POV

I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.*

We had won the fight against the Oakridge pack. Zane took down the Alpha and his pack submitted, but not before we had lost 23 of our own. Every single wolf we had lost went down fighting, not one of them went down easy. Our night ended with blood covering the forest floor like a thick blanket, and sorrow hung heavy in the air.

We had saved most of the girls that were taken, only a few of them didn't make it. Every human survived the whole ordeal. Loni, Michelle, and I made sure to magically wipe their minds, there was no way around it. We couldn't allow them to speak about everything they had seen, they would have probably ended up in mental hospital if they did.

We didn't allow any of the Oakridge Pack wolves to join us, they were all sentenced to be rogues. They would be extremely lucky if any other pack took them in. Even if they were to find their mates in another pack, they still may be rejected. Those wolves were tainted with the scent of dark magic, every wolf would be able to smell it and know what they did.

No dark witches were left to deal with, after May tried to kill Bryson, Loni went crazy and started zapping witches as quick as she could. It's funny, the quietest person in our group was the one to go crazy with anger. Loni's magic killed May, but it wasn't quick enough, she still got Kayla. I believe that's the reason why Loni kept going, I think she was trying to make up for not stopping May. I tried to get her to calm down, but her mind was only set on revenge. She is still trying to get over those events, nightmares plague her, and she is even quieter than before. Andrew, her mate, is by her side all the time, helping her heal.

Michelle, and of course Loni, are still a part of the pack. Michelle even found a mate in our pack, and has become pregnant with the first wolf with witch blood, that should be interesting. This has never happened, like ever, and we are all a little nervous about it. I'm just glad I wasn't the first one to get pregnant, now I can know what's going to happen to me.

Bryson's mother survived the death of her mate, and learned how to be a healer from her own mother. She visits the house often, yet she refuses to move back in, but that's understandable. She did however, move back into town, and helps Kayla's parents with medical issues related to the pack. Her main goal is helping Loni get through her pregnancy, sanity intact.

Now, on to the bad news . . .

Bryson and Kayla died that night in each other's arms. Their love story ended just as sudden as it began. Kayla had only been a part of our world for two months. In those two months she became my best friend, the Luna of a pack, and a wolf's mate. She was only sixteen years old, her life ripped away before it even began. Her sacrifice gave Bryson a few more moments of life, it gave her just enough time to be one with him before the life inside them slipped away.

Maybe we could have saved them if the fight had ended right then, but it didn't. It went on for almost another hour. I kept their bodies safe until the threat was gone. By the time we had actually been able to check on them, it was too late, there was nothing we could do.

The death of those two inspiring leaders changed the supernatural world. Zane became Alpha of the Virtus Pack, and I became the first Luna, who was also a witch. With that, power shifted greatly. We became one of the strongest packs in the world, more wolves had found their mates in witches, and no longer did they try to hurt each other. The two supernatural groups came together as one, all because my friend and her mate made the ultimate sacrifice.

I will never be the same without her. I know a piece of my heart died when Kayla did. I know now that they had the unfortunate destiny to die for our kind, to stop wars that hadn't even yet begun, and to bring together a world that never should have been apart.

I really wish I could have told you that everyone went home that night, to live happily ever after, but that's just not how life works.

*Life isn't fair. Not everyone gets their happy ending.

THE END.....
