**Sophia**
I was pacing in my room, I was wound up from tonight and I didn't know what else to do but pace. Rebekah had been in and helped me dress for bed, but sleep was not coming easily.
I heard someone else pacing and I knew who it was, and I needed to go talk to him. He needed to know just how I felt about today. I quietly left my room, wandering down the small, dark hallway to get to the sitting room where I saw a silhouette of Bucky pacing by a fire, sipping an amber liquid from a glass.
I stood hidden in the dark hallway just watching Bucky pace, the look he had on his face was one I couldn't read. I had never seen him look so conflicted and perplexed before.
"Why would you deny him?" Bucky boldly asked and it was then I knew he knew I was there.
"What?" I confusedly asked.
"Why would you deny the King? If he calls you to his bed, you must go." Bucky snapped glaring as me as I walked in the room.
"He told you about that?!" I asked mortified.
"Of course he did Sophia! I'm there with every choice he makes and the choice of calling you to his bed is one I don't particularly want to hear about but when I hear that you fought him on it, I have to wondering what the hell you're thinking!" Bucky yelled.
"I didn't technically fight him. I told him I was courting someone but if he wanted me to come, I wouldn't deny him! I know better than to deny the king! I don't want to end up losing my head." I fought back.
Bucky didn't say anything else and just paced. I folded my hands in my lap when I sat down, I was fidgeting with my hands in my lap.
"Do you think he is going to call on me?" I meekly asked. Bucky grumbled and finished his drink.
"I don't know what he thinks Sophia, I know he couldn't stop watching you, I know it made you feel uneasy, and I also know that he doesn't usually dance at these things, yet he danced with you and you alone." Bucky said and I sighed.
"It was nice dancing with him." I quietly admitted, although Bucky heard.
"His mother informed me he is looking for a wife..." Bucky spoke up after some silence.
"Why not Rebekah, she is unwed." I whispered in case she was still awake.
Bucky shook his head, "You were too young to remember but Steve, Rebekah and I were friends and she's like a sister to him. They would not be a good pairing." Bucky admitted and I nodded remembered them always being together when we were at the palace as kids.
"There are plenty of available women in court, I'm sure he will find someone." I admitted.
"I believe there is only one he wants, and she isn't available." Bucky shot me a glance, we met each other's eyes.
"Bucky..." I sighed and he just shook his head.
"Go to bed Sophia."
"I'm not tired."
"Sophia, now!" Bucky commanded. I got up from the chair I was sitting in, walked over to the bookshelf on the wall, grabbed a favorite book of mine and headed to the bedroom.
As I reached the hallway Rebekah was standing in the doorway to her bedroom. She crocked her finger for me to join her. I walked into her room, and we got into bed together to just lay there to talk.
"Do you think I made a mistake denying Steve tonight?" I asked.
"You only can do what you feel is right..." Rebekah trailed off.
"I love John and I can't wait to marry him. I don't want anything to derail that." I said.
"King Steven never even gave permission for you both to get married. You never got his blessing."
"John is going to be called to go talk to King Steve later this week. He is going to give him the answer then." I explained and Rebekah smiled.
"Well, he must be really considering his answer if he didn't give a simple yes or no tonight."
"Considering if he wants to have me in his bed or not...betrothed or not." I scoffed.
"Hey, don't act like that."
"How am I supposed to act Rebekah?! I love John, I want John to be my one and only. My first and my last..." I trailed off. Rebekah turned her head and looked at me.
"Do you have any questions about how that will be?" Rebekah asked me and I just looked at her and sighed.
"I know I should, but I wouldn't know what to ask and I didn't know if I could ask you..." I trailed off causing her to chuckle.
"Soph, I was married at one point in time, and I did have martial relations with my husband. Also, this isn't to say that since that time I haven't indulged in acts between a man and a woman." Rebekah said and I knew the gasp I made was very audible that possible the dowager queen heard me all the way back at the castle. "Don't act so surprised." Rebekah snipped.
"It's just I never knew...with who?" I asked. She shook her head.
"It's not important..."
"It is to me." I said.
"Lord Sam."
"SAM?!" I squealed and Rebekah's hand clapped over my mouth to silence me. "Does Bucky know?" I asked when she removed her hand.
"No! Can you imagine if Bucky did know?! He would kill Sam." Rebekah said, and I nodded.
We were silent for a few minutes, and I finally sighed, "Will it hurt?" I asked.
"Only for a moment. You'll just have to be vocal if it does so, he goes slow." Rebekah explained.
"What if I'm not good at it? What if John isn't..." I trailed off.
"You aren't expected to be good you first few times. You have to find the way your body moves and works. Just take your time, enjoy the time together, Experiment together." Rebekah said, I raised an eyebrow as I looked at her.
"Experiment?" I asked. Even in the darkness of the room with only the moon as our light source I saw her smirk at me.
"Yes experiment...trust me." Rebekah said. "And I will tell you if Steve does call upon you to join him in bed...you won't be sorry." Rebekah said, before I could say anything Rebakah clasped her hand over my mouth again.
"When?!" I asked removing her hand from my mouth.
"When we were 17. Bucky was with our father for the day, Steve and I went out and one thing led to another. I don't even remember how it fully came about but it did." Rebekah said.
I laid there silent...this man had my sister now he was wanting me.
"That was how we knew we weren't compatible. It was awkward for us being friends, but he knew how to please a woman." Rebekah continued explaining. I just sighed.
"I just don't know what to do. I mean does it happen naturally?" I asked.
"Yes, just let it happen and if you don't feel ready then don't do anything." Rebekah stated. "Seriously Sophia, only do what you're comfortable with." Rebekah said, we got comfortable in bed.
"And what if Steve's calls on me?" I asked.
There was a heavy sigh.
"That, you have to follow his lead."
The silence fell in the room and soon my eyelids were heavy and won out with visions of me walking down a long, black corridor with King Steve waiting for me at the end with a hand stretched out.
