"Are you sure about this?" Bucky asked me as I finished getting ready in my chambers.

"Of course, I am. I have sent guards to bring him in and my mother also sent someone to go get your sister since you didn't bring her with you. Mother wants to have afternoon tea with her in the garden." I said and Bucky grumbled.

"Can I ask why she wants to have my sister for tea?" Bucky asked as we left my chambers to head to the throne room where I would receive John Walker when he arrived.

"Because she saw how enthralled I was by your sister at the party and wants to get to know her. You have held her away from us for too long Bucky. I mean 11 years Bucky. She was 10 the last time we all saw her." I said.

"I wanted her safe..."

"Safe from who Your Grace? Me?" I snipped and Bucky sighed.

"For one, yes. I'm sorry your majesty but my sister is young and naïve and never been hurt. I was keeping her from that." Bucky explained. We reached the throne room. I took my seat and Bucky stood beside me.

"Steve, can I speak as a friend and not as a trusted advisor?" Bucky asked.

"You may."

"Please don't call upon my sister to your bed. I know I have no right to ask this, but I feel like she will do something rash if you do."

"What do you mean?" I snapped.

"I don't know but I would just be scared of what would happen." Bucky said. I thought of his plea and just scoffed.

"I will call whoever I see fit." I stubbornly answered. Bucky just gave a nod.

A silence fell over the room, and we waited for John Walker to be announced in. What Bucky and I were not expecting was what happened.

"Announcing Sir John Walker and Lady Barnes."

Bucky perked up as did I, both for different reasons. Sophia was not supposed to be in here, she was supposed to meet one of the Dowager Queen's ladies when she arrived.

"Lady Barnes, what a pleasure to see you." I said as they approached. She curtsied to me as John bowed.

"Pleasure is all mine I assure you. I know the Dowager Queen called upon me for tea but no ladies were waiting for me but John arrived at the same time so I just joined him hoping I could get some help finding Dowager Queen Sarah." Sophia spoke.

I had to admit I barely heard what she said, watching her mouth move and wondering what it would look like wrapped around my hard member had me distracted.

"Well, someone should have been there, and I apologize for that myself Lady Barnes." I said and she slightly shook her head.

"It's quite alright, if you will just point me in the direction, I should go..." Lady Barnes spoke.

"I have a better idea -..." I said standing up. "John you may wait here with Duke Barnes, and I will take Lady Barnes to my mother who I am sure is concerned about her arrival." I spoke.

"Oh no, your majesty, I could never expect you to take me..." Lady Barnes seemed shocked.

I walked right up to Sophia, "I insist, are you denying your King of this simple task?"

I saw the blush creep on her cheek, and I also saw John stiffen beside her, she released her arm from being linked in Johns, "Of course not your majesty." She said as she linked her arm in mine. Even through my clothing I could feel the burn of her touch on my skin, the burn was nice, and I wanted to feel it over my entire body.

We were walking in silence as she held on to my arm.

"I want to thank you for whatever opportunity you give John your majesty, he is a hard worker and will be good at whatever you task him with." Sophia spoke as we walked.

"Lady Barnes -..."

"Please call me Sophia, you have known me forever." Sophia spoke and I chuckled.

"I guess I have..." I stated smirking, "Sophia what you need to understand is the job I will be tasking John with is not an easy one and it will be one that will take him away from you."

"For how long?" Sophia asked worried.

"Undetermined. Shouldn't be too long but if he can succeed in this trip, I will give him permission to marry you." I said. Sophia gasped and looked at me.

"I would like to ask you my own request your majesty..." Sophia trailed off.

"You may ask, I don't have to agree."

"I understand, can we have permission before he leaves so, we may become man and wife before he leaves?" Sophia asked. Her voice was small, scared to ask. I never wanted her to be scared of me.

I was silent for a few steps and then stopped walking. I turned her to look at me and we stood in the hallway.

"Lady Barnes, I will consider your question, but I need you to understand most people in my court need to prove themselves a worthy husband or wife in my standards before I allow it. John has not done anything to prove this to me yet." I explained. She hung her head, and I could tell this was very important to her. I placed a hand under her chin making her look up at me. "I said I will consider it." I repeated it and she gave me a small smile.

"Thank you, your majesty." Sophia smiled.

"Let's get you out to my mother shall we, she is probably insane with worry." I said linking her arm back in mine. We walked in a comfortable silence until we arrived in the gardens. I saw my mother sitting there wringing her napkin, in her lap.

"Where is she?! She didn't just disappear!" Dowager Queen Sarah yelled at one of her ladies.

"Looking for someone?" I asked approaching the table. Sophia smiled at my mother, but I saw the look of horror on my mother's face, fearing why I was bringing Sophia to her.

Sophia let go of my arm and curtsied to my mother.

"No one was waiting for her when she arrived, she walked in with Sir John." I spoke up and Sarah glared at her one lady in waiting.

"You were supposed to be waiting for you?! Where were you?!" Sarah yelled.

"Mother...may I suggest that wait...?" I asked and she sighed.

"You're right. Please have a seat Lady Barnes, I'm so excited for this meeting." Dowager Queen Sarah said, and Sophia smiled at my mother. I escorted her to the chair, pulling it out for her.

"Thank you, your majesty." Sophia said. Before I could walk away, I stood beside her, took her hand and kissed the back of it.

"I look forward to seeing you again soon Lady Barnes." I said with my lips still against her skin but our eyes meeting. I know she saw the look in them, the dark, lustful look I had to blink away.

"Please consider what I asked of you, your highness." Sophia pleaded...god she needed to stop using that pleading voice on me, I wanted to hear her pleading for more in my room, in my bed, pleading all night.

I kissed her hand again, "I will consider it." I said and walked away.

My entire way back to the throne room I really did weigh the option of letting Sophia marry John before he left. If they wed, they would consummate their marriage surely. I knew Sophia would be pure and untouched when he got to touch her, that wouldn't be on me to handle. Although if I was going to be her one and only, I would prefer I make her a woman. If I let her marry before he left and something were to happen to John, her grieving period would be longer as a widow which would keep me away from her longer.

I had a lot to think about as I walked into the throne room and returned to my seat. I noticed Bucky looking at me.

"Don't worry Barnes, she got to my mother, unharmed and only her hand was touched by my lips." I whispered to him. He tensed up but gave a nod. I then looked at John who was standing there, waiting. I gave a smirk and knew exactly what I was going to do.
