15 - Meeting with the King

**Steve**

I was pacing back and forth in my room. I knew she was on her way back, at least she was supposed to be with Bucky. I sent him to get her today since I wasn't sure what her plan was. These past few days without Sophia here in the palace I have been going crazy. I have lost sleep, I haven't eaten much but I had been drinking, done a lot of drinking. She wasn't here and I couldn't monitor her.

I would find myself going down the secret passageway at night to her room to see if she came back in the middle of the night. The room smelled of her and I couldn't get enough of it even if I just laid in her bed to feel like she was with me.

I prayed she would be back with Bucky and hadn't decided to just stay home. I can't see Bucky letting her live alone but Sophia was her own person and did what she wanted.

I was still pacing when there was a knock on my bedroom door, where I would be having the meeting. No other place was private and I needed to have privacy with her. I needed this talk to be just us.

"What?" I yelled and the door opened, Peter was standing there. "She just arrived with Lord Barnes."

I nodded, "Make sure she is brought here swiftly and then we are left alone with just my guards." I said and he nodded walking out. I walked over to the mirror to make sure I looked presentable. It was then I noticed my eyes were dark and sunken in from not sleeping and I looked like I had missed a few meals.

There was another knock on the door, a small one, not one from any of my men. I walked over and opened the door. I saw her, a vision, Sophia standing there in front of me, not meeting my gaze but curtsying.

"Your Highness." She whispered.

"Thank you for bringing her Lord Barnes, you are dismissed." I said, Bucky gave a small bow and left. I then looked at the guards.

"You all are to block these doors and not let anyone in, you understand?!" I barked.

"Yes your highness." They answered. I took Sophia's hand and stood her up from her curtsy. I led her into my room, shutting and locking the door.

I needed to keep my space from her at the moment, all I wanted was her but we needed to talk.

"You highness, can I please explain -..." Sophia started off saying.

"I'm still Steve in here Sophia, that never changed." I interrupted her.

"Well I wasn't sure what it was now. I mean I havent seen you in about a week..." Sophia said and I groaned.

"I know, I'm sorry. I should have warned you how I can be before a ship leaves." I said and Sophia just nodded and crossed her arms, more hugging herself than anything. "Sophia, I was worried about you..."

"Why because the man I was courting and had been courting for years was unfaithful and married someone else?" Sophia asked and I nodded.

"That's why..."

"I mean I was shocked when I found them, which is why I ran. I needed to be away from everyone for a while to really think of everything. It hit me today though, John wasn't the only unfaithful one..." Sophia trailed off meeting my eyes.

"Sophia..."

"No Steve it's true. Everything we did, everything I went along with because I wanted it was also being unfaithful. Then you stopped calling on me, stopped leaving the passageway door unlocked and I thought you got what you wanted, you got everything you needed and you were done. You just lied to me..." Sophia was venting and she was crying by the time she was done. I couldn't hold back anymore and I rushed up to her. I wrapped my arms around her and just held her as she cried.

"I never lied to you Sophia you are all I want, not just for sex but I want you in my life and I want you to be mine." I said. She still cried but looked up at me.

"What?" She asked.

"I want you to be my wife Sophia, I'm not asking right now and I'm not saying it's official but I just want you to know I want you to be mine. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." I said. Sophia smiled at me and I leaned down giving her a small kiss.

"I love you." Sophia answered when we broke apart. I just looked at her and she felt the need to continue, "I told John I loved him when I don't think I really did. I knew it was expected of me to get married and help the families. I had feelings for him but I don't think they were love. Now that he has done what he is done those feelings are gone, to be honest they were gone we I met him for breakfast that morning. I don't know what I fully want in my life but I know the one thing I do want is you. Since our first night together, it's always been you." Sophia explained. I couldn't contain myself any longer and I crashed my lips to her, there was no being slow about this at all.

We were quickly moving back to my bed, she was trying to get my tunic off as I was unlacing her dress, "Turn around." I said to her, I needed to see the laces, it seemed to be knotted or something. She quickly spun and I started unlacing her dress, once it was done it just fell from her body, I then unlaced her corset, I wanted her bare for me. Once she was fully undressed, I spun her to look at me and I marveled at her body, it was perfect and all mine. I helped her get my tunic off, I unlaced my pants but didn't take them off, I lifted her up and placed her in the bed, laying her down, hovering over her.

"You left me Lady Sophia..."

"You went quiet on me your highness..."

She knew how to take and give it.

"You made me insane with worry." I said.

"Am I going to be punished?" Sophia asked with a smirk.

I growled and attached my lips to hers. She pushed my pants off my body and moaned when she could feel my tip poking at her entrance.

"Steve please..." She begged in a whisper as her lips skimmed mine. She even lifted a leg up and wrapped it around my waist. I smiled down at her and slowly slid inside of her watching her head fall back and her mouth open moaning out her pleasure. At this point I didn't even care of the sounds she was making, no one was around my room but the guards and they knew better then to speak of what I did.

She felt so amazing and I forgot how she felt, I had forgotten how amazing she could be. She was all I needed in my life to calm down and be brought back down to reality. I started moving in and out of her at a steady pace, Sophia wrapped her arms around me and dug her nails into my back. I growled at the pleasure, I leaned down and started kissing her neck, I wanted my lips to be all over her body, claiming every inch. She was mine and would always be mine. I would figure out how to make her mine and make her my wife, Bucky be damned. Bucky had no say in who I married and if I wanted Sophia, which I did, I would have Sophia.

I felt her clenching around me and I knew she was so close, being without her for so long I was too.

"Steve...oh my god..." Sophia cried out as she released and I spurted inside of her. She was shaking around me as I held her close to my body, coming down from her high. I finally rolled off of her and laid beside her on the bed. She instantly snuggled up against me and I wrapped my arms around her.

"Steve?" She asked sleepily.

"Yes?" I answered.

"Did you mean what you said? You want me as your wife?" Sophia asked. I placed my hand under her chin making her look up at me.

"I meant every word, you will be my wife one day soon Sophia." I said, leaning down and gently kissing her. She cuddled further into me and sighed contently. I was running my fingers through her hair, that was down just for me, I knew it was. "I'm sorry about John and Sharon..."

"Don't mention those people to me, they mean nothing to me anymore." Sophia grumbled.

"Good, they shouldn't." I said.

I heard her breathing steadily and she was quickly falling asleep, I was right behind her knowing I hadn't slept well in days and I could tell she hadn't either.
