A few days later I was just getting back from shopping at the market. The footmen were taking everything I bought to my room and I was going to head to the library when I ran into Sarah
"Your majesty." I said giving a small curtsy.
"Sophia! Just the girl I was looking for." Sarah exclaimed excited.
"You were?" I asked and she nodded.
"I was. I was wondering if you would like to take a small trip with me somewhere. I have something I would like to show you." Sarah said and I smiled.
"I would love to." I said and Sarah started walking and I joined her with my ladies walking with hers.
We reached a room that was down to the depths of the castle and we had passed mandy guards to get inside. We arrived at a set of double doors and Sarah smiled at the guards.
"Me and the future Queen will be going inside and would like privacy." Sarah said. The guards nodded, Sarah looked at the ladies behind us. "We will be right back ladies."
The doors opened and then a guard came in lighting all the lights. I looked around as everything came into light and I saw jewels. I saw crowns, tiaras, necklaces, earrings, brooches, everything you could imagine.
"Oh my..." I said as the double doors shut. I started walking around and Sarah watched me with a smile. "This is all so gorgeous." I said.
"It's been collected through the years, through the generations really. It's the Rogers family collection." Sarah said and I turned to look at her.
"Wow...I can't even imagine..." I said and Sarah smiled.
"There was another reason I brought you down here Sophia." Sarah said and started headed to the far wall and I followed.
As we reached the wall I saw a collection of crowns and tiaras. I was speechless.
"These are yours, you get to pick whichever you like for your coronation." Sarah said and I snapped my head to look at her.
"Aren't they yours?" I asked.
"No, they were collected to be for the future Queen, whoever Steve chose to marry." Sarah said and I smiled at her.
"This all feels like a dream." I whispered.
"What?" Sarah asked not exactly hearing.
"This all feels like a dream. I mean Steve and I had our nights together and then this little one came along -" I said and rubbed my stomach with a smile, "Then we ended up married and here we are talking about my coronation which will be after I give birth to the next heir...hopefully." I said and Sarah smiled.
"Not a dream Sophia. This is where you belong. You don't realize when James brought you to court Steve was taken by you. Yes, you were courting someone but he wanted you. Did he expect for the circumstances to happen like they did, no but he got you in the end. I'm also so happy he did." Sarah said.
My eyes had filled with tears as she pulled me into a hug. "Ooff." Sarah said as she hugged me and I gave a small laugh knowing the baby kicked.
"Sorry, been doing that a lot lately. Mostly to Steve. I think the baby knows I was mad at Steve and anytime he touches my belly the baby kicks his hand." I laughed and Sarah laughed.
"Steve loved kicking his father when I was pregnant with him. It must be a Rogers male thing." Sarah said and I smirked.
"I hope so..." I said and Sarah noticed my face fall.
"Sophia we have told you time and time again, if you have a girl first it's not the end of the world. You can try for a boy." Sarah said and I nodded.
"I know...it's just whenever I dream about the baby anytime I come close to finding out what it is, I wake up." I said and Sarah placed a hand on my cheek.
"I was the same way when I was pregnant with Steve. I could never tell in my dreams. His father, Joseph swore Steve was going to be a girl." Sarah laughed and I laughed with her.
"Did you both want more children?" I asked and Sarah shook her head.
"Once I had Steven I didn't think about other children. If we had a girl we would have had more children but Steven was all we wanted." Sarah said.
"Well you raised an amazing man, even if we have our issues sometimes." I smirked and Sarah smiled back at me.
"Sophia, no one thinks you are wrong in how you feel. Steve threw you into this role with no idea on what it would entail and then when people tried to help he said he had it covered. He wants to do so much but there aren't enough hours in the day." Sarah explained.
"Do you think Steve will be around when the baby is born?" I asked.
"I know he will." Sarah said and I smiled.
I then looked at the row of crowns in front of me and I picked up one that had red rubies on it.
"This is really pretty." I said and Sarah nodded.
"That's the same crown I picked for my coronation." Sarah smiled and I smiled at her.
"It's gorgeous." I said and she nodded.
"We will talk to the seamstress about the dress to match the crown. You have time though." She said and motioned to my stomach and I laughed but nodded.
"That I do." I said. Sarah and I walked out of the room and back up to the castle in silence.
"Can we maybe have some tea and talk also invite Rebekah?" I asked Sarah.
"Of course." Sarah said as we walked to her sitting room. She ordered one of her ladies to get tea and another to get Rebekah.
Rebekah joined us and I smiled as she sat beside me and the tea was set down. We all made a cup of tea and sighed looking at both women.
"I asked for this meeting with both of you for a reason..." I trailed off.
"What's on your mind?" Rebekah asked.
"It's about if something happens to me during birth..." I said and both women shook their heads.
"No, don't talk like this." Sarah said.
"I have to, things happen. I know if I tried to talk to Steve or Bucky they would dismiss me, please don't you two do the same." I said and they both sighed but nodded. "I'm just going to ask you two if something does happen to me in childbirth please don't let Steve go in a hole. Don't let him become dark and bruiting. Make sure he takes care of our child and raises the child to be the best child it can be." I said.
Both woman nodded.
"Also, I don't want him alone forever. Tell him it's okay if after me he moves on." I said.
"That will never happen." We heard a voice say and we all turned to the door to see Steve standing there. He walked over and knelt in front of me.
"If any thing happens to you in childbirth I will take care of our child and make sure they know all about their amazing mother but you are the love of my life Sophia. I will never want anyone else." Steve explained.
I felt tears pool in my eyes. I placed a hand on his cheek, leaned in and gave him a small kiss.
"I love you." I whispered leaned my forehead against his when we broke apart.
"And I love you." Steve whispered back.
