I woke up soon after Steve put me in my bed by a knock on my door.
"Lady Sophia, are you awake?" The voice of a lady came, and I was confused.
"Yes, please come in." I said and she walked in. She was a middle-aged woman standing there with a breakfast tray and I smiled.
"Thank you." I said as she set it on the table in the room and I knew I needed to get over there to eat...
"I'm one of your ladies in waiting, I'm Lady Pepper Potts, the queen sent me to you this morning. Your others will be here shortly to help you get dressed." Pepper said and I looked at her shocked.
"What about my sister, she has been helping me get ready..." I said and she half nodded.
"If you would feel more comfortable with your sister, I'm sure we could work something out." Pepper asked feeling deflated slightly. I knew I needed to get used to this life.
"No, it's fine. Thank you, Pepper." I said and she smiled. I was still sitting up in bed, Pepper looked at me.
"Are you not wanting breakfast this morning Lady Barnes?" She asked and I sighed.
"I will be right over, just waking up a little." I said and she smiled. She walked out and I sighed.
Now to get up and walk like I've been doing most of my life and not look like a baby deer. I swung my feet off the bed and sighed setting my feet on the floor. I gripped the bedside table and stood up. My legs weren't as wobbly, and I felt steady enough to make it to the table with my breakfast on it.
As I was eating there was another knock on my door and I sighed, "Come in."
Pepper came walking in with 3 other women with her, one of which I knew all too well and another I cared not to know but I did.
"Lady Barnes, these are your other ladies in waiting. This is Natasha Romonoff, Yelena Belova and Sharon Carter." Pepper introduced all of them. I smiled at all of them.
"Nice to meet all of you." I smiled.
"We are here to get you ready for the day. John Walker is requesting a walk with you through the gardens." Sharon snipped. Natasha elbowed her and Sharon quickly took a deep breath to calm herself.
"Oh well, then I guess we better pick out of outfit and get started." I said forcing a smile. Something about meeting with John was making me sick. I didn't want to go be with him, I wanted to be with Steve.
I was dressed and ready to go out for the day. There was a knock on the bedroom door and then it cracked open.
"You decent?" Bucky asked and I smiled at him. Nat was still in the room finishing my hair.
"Yes, come on in." I said and she wouldn't even make eye contact with Bucky. It hurt me to see them so distant when I could have sworn, they were going to be married.
"Hey, I came to escort you to the gardens where John is waiting for you. You ready to meet him?" Bucky asked and I looked at Nat in the mirror.
"All done." She smiled at me.
"Thank you." I said and stood up, stumbling slightly.
"You okay?" Bucky asked catching me. I smiled to myself knowing whey I stumbled.
"Of course, I must have must stood up too fast." I said and Bucky half nodded helping me stand straight and we headed out of the room, but I was thankful when he didn't notice my tighter grip on his arm making sure I stayed upright.
