"This isn't over, I won't be long", Kayden told Alora, when he left the room.
"Sirus, what can I do for you?" Kayden asked when he was in his office, where a tall, dark-haired man already waited for him with Jake.
His blond eyes were full of envy, and Kayden knew it because his daughter wasn't any different.
"I'm here for the convention, boy", he said, with a smile, but there was nothing funny in it.
"Then you know it's for two days, not today, so what is your real reason for coming here, in my house?" Kayden asked him, seriously.
"And, for the record, Sirus, I was a boy long time ago", Kayden's green eyes were shining dangerously.
"True", Sirus coughed.
"I wanted to offer you my help, because of the rogues and all, I've heard that your pack is targeted again", he said.
"We are all targeted ,Sirus, mine a bit more and often, but that's understandable", Kayden said.
"Yes, your pack is the strongest, I get that, but there's no reason you refuse my help", Sirus told him.
"I didn't want your help 10 years ago, I don't need it now, for that I have my reasons."
"This gathering is to find the reason and unite in our fight against them, that's it, so anything you have to say, you can do it at the convention, not here", Kayden said to him, waiting for him to leave his house.
"Well, I can assure you that I'll do that", Sirus said and got up.
"I'll be at the city's hotel, if you change your mind until others Alphas come", he said to Kayden.
"Jake, make sure our guest leaves safely ", Kayden said before he closed the door.
He was pissed, more so because he knew that Sirus never traveled alone, not without her.
When Alora walked out of the room toward the kitchen, she heard some strange woman's voice that she didn't recognize.
She was talking with Lisa, the young Omega maid, and she heard Ella's angry voice too.
"What seems to be the problem here?" Alora asked when she walked in.
A tall woman was standing in the middle of the kitchen, with long black hair and
dark blue eyes that were telling Alora she meant no good, but she was hiding it with her fake smile.
She was attractive, Alora needed to admit that.
"Miss Cavanaugh wants two more places at the table, and I didn't get any orders from Alpha or you, my Luna", Lisa said, quietly.
"I doubt that you will", Ella commented, with her hands crossed on her breasts.
"It's okay Lisa, just continue as usual, I'll deal with mis...."
She was waiting for the girl to introduce herself.
"Cavanaugh, Dana Cavanaugh", the girl smiled with her fake smile again, acting like she owned the place.
"Excuse me, I didn't hear it well, ...Luna?" She asked Alora.
Alora almost burst from anger, but she needed to control herself.
"Yes, you did", Alora said, seriously.
"I don't see no mark", Dana commented.
" I don't like tattoos", Alora answered with the same tone.
"So ,there is hope", she said more to herself, with a satisfying smile.
"Alora just sighed.
"Now, I don't know what your intentions are, but I assure you that this dinner will pass without you and your father, I presume that he's the one who asked to see my mate?" Alora asked her.
"Yes it is, but don't you think we should ask Alpha Kayden about that?" She provoked Alora now.
Alora had enough, she almost slapped her because she was so self-assured.
What the hell does she think she is?
"Yes, let's ask him!" Ella said, angrily.
"Ask me what?" Kaden asked when he appeared in the kitchen suddenly.
" If I could stay at the dinner", Dana said with a fake voice of an angel, putting her hand on his chest.
His face paled when he saw her, not to mention what the feeling he had when she touched him.
His look could kill in that moment.
He just looked coldly at her, without saying a word for a few seconds.
"Your father is waiting for you outside, you better hurry up", He told her, making anger in her eyes.
Dana smiled, yes, but it could see that the anger was all over her face.
"We're here for the gathering", she said.
"Which is in two days, and until then, I don't want you,in my house", he told her, then Jake appeared after a few seconds.
Kayden must have called him.
"You know what to do", he said, then walked to the table.
"Ella smiled victoriously at Alora, winking at her, then went to the kitchen to help Lisa, while Alora went to her place at the table.
"Who was that?" She asked him.
"Alpha Cavanaugh's daughter", he simply answered.
She was angry at him, knowing the whole truth, and yet, he acted like nothing had happened.
Yes, he didn't know that she knew, but she was hoping that he would tell her, to open up to her already, at least about that.
It was a shock for him too, after all those years, she thought, but still...damn it...
"You seemed close with her", she said.
"We were never close, and I haven't seen her for ten years", his jaw clenched, which meant he was angry now.
Alora almost cried at that moment seeing him like that.
Was he still thinking of her?
He was angry, what did that mean?
Shit!
She sighed, heavily.
"You know, actually , I'm not that stupid", she said, with a trembling voice.
"I know who she is, was, to you, so you could have some decency and tell me the fucking truth!" She raised her voice.
He watched her, and his eyes were their normal color.
He wasn't angry anymore, not at her, at least.
"Forget it, I've lost my appetite, so if you'll excuse me", she stood up and walked outside, leaving Ella confused when she came to the table.
"Damn it!", Kayden hissed and left the kitchen after her.
