Fighting others, Kayden saw Clark coming toward him, with the attention of attack.
He was ready for that, he couldn't wait to break his neck off.
He was rageful for that man because he was so rough toward Alora.
He was to blame.
Clark jumped on Kayden, trying to scratch his neck with s filthy claws, but that wasn't happening.
Kayden was too smart and experienced for that kind of move.
He jumped to the side and avoided his blow, but Clark didn't give up.
He tried again, but this time from another angle.
He attacked behind, which Kayden could have seen, but he had to fight other rogues attacking him too, so Clark managed to hurt his shoulder badly, and Kayden fell to the ground.
Clark hurt Kayden's right shoulder, but he could stand it.
He needed just one move to end this, and it should be fast.
No other way.
Kayden had no time or nerves to fight this bastard, and Clark was a coward because he wasn't fighting Kayden alone, no.
He had a distraction, from his other filthy rogues who constantly attacked Kayden and his men too.
He waited.
Just lay on the ground and waited for Clark's next move.
It came fast.
He already celebrating Kayden's death, but it was too early.
When he jumped to give him a blow into his neck, Kayden's claw went straight into Clrk's heart and pulled him out of his chest.
His red eyes watched Kayden a few seconds more until they shut out forever.
It was over.
When the rogues saw that, they started to run in all directions, so the border was safe again soon.
They gave up, for now, until they found a new leader, but Kayden was doubtful that it would be like Clark, he was a bastard.
"Blake, get the bad wounded warriors to the hospital, the others can clean this mess", Kayden said, still holding Clark's heart in his hands,
He was still grateful.
"Yes Alpha, what are we going to do with him?" He asked, looking at Clark's lifeless body.
"Burn the bastard, together with his traitors", he ordered and threw his heart to his body.
He was cold as ice because that was the thing he was known for.
His ruthless.
He would never get that far if that wasn't part of his way of fighting, and ruling.
Inside, he had a good heart that beat for one woman only, but it was too deep somewhere to be seen.
If he wanted to keep her, he needed to melt that icy heart of his, otherwise, things wouldn't be good, for either of them.
Life had a strange way of showing people what they are made of, and for Kayden, it was one of them.
Alora was restless.
The fight was still at the border and she couldn't do anything to help her people, not even at the hospital, because of Kayden's orders.
It was all she could do, everything she had in life, helping people she loved, Alora loved her pack so much, and the pack adored her.
She couldn't stand the pressure anymore.
Kayden gave her no choice.
She started to pack her bags with the belongings that she had before Kayden.
Nothing he gave her, she couldn't take with her, because of and pain she felt at that moment, and now, her heart was falling apart.
She didn't want anything to remind her of him, but what should she do with his child inside her and a heart, that was loving him so much?
That was something she would need to live with.
He will have his freedom as he always wanted, and maybe he and Dana get together again because he didn't love her, Alora thought.
But how will she escape unnoticed?
She put her basic stuff into a bag, waiting for Ella to be asleep, then she transformed, took the bag into her mouth, and ran from the window, toward town, into her old house.
She still had a car there, and money in her bank account, because she saved when she was working, so it should be enough for her to manage until something came up.
But, she needed to go far from here, somewhere where Kayden wouldn't find her ever.
She couldn't be a woman that didn't have a right to her own choice or voice.
That wasn't the main thing in all this.
It was him and his behavior.
He took her for granted and it was too painful for her.
She didn't want to say goodbye to anyone, especially Blake and Ella, because she couldn't leave, and if she saw him, that would be even worse, she would forgive him and they would make love, until she made her peace with him, which was something she didn't want anymore.
He took what he wanted and when he wanted, but gave nothing, and Alora wasn't that kind of a woman.
She loved with all she had, but she wanted the same.
Alora needed the same from Kayden, and he just didn't try, not even that.
He said he did try, maybe that was true, but every time she thought he was changing, he proved her wrong.
At first, Alora thought that it was too hard for him, he was hurt, and that was understandable.
Later, it was like he didn't want that, like he was thinking that would soft him or something, but he tried, that was sure.
Alora couldn't be just physical with him, not even if that meant he was opening up to her at that moment, because it wasn't all the time, just then, which was his mistake.
The last thing was Dana because, after all she saw, Alora thought he didn't get over her.
That she destroyed him completely.
If she could do that, then she can bring him into life again, so she will be out of their way for good.
One day, who knows, maybe life surprised her, whatever it was, she needed to live with that.
How?
She had no idea.
It was too painful, and her heart just couldn't deal with that anymore.
