Five days lasted Alora's heat and Kayden was with her the whole time.

They made love, ate, and had some sleep, with no serious conversations, for that, it wasn't a time.

Eventually, it will come, because Alora didn't fully trust Kayden because of Dana and Sirus, especially now, when she was pregnant.

She needed Kayden while she was in heat, it was normal, otherwise, her pain would be unbearable, and her desire for him too.

It was all normal for werewolves, what distinguished them from humans.

Alora wanted the child inside her, it made her happy, more so because it was Kayden's, she loved him.

But, she wasn't sure about him.

For a hundred times, she asked herself what was going on with him.

She would forget everything while they made love, all would be perfect in that moment, which they had for themselves.

He probably will distance himself later as always, coming to her closely only when he wants her, but they didn't do anything together, he didn't give himself to her all the way, and that was something that she couldn't stand.

Yes, he noticed her, they would have meals together and have common conversations, but other than that, he didn't change much.

Kayden continued to be the same untouchable Alpha that he was before she came.

Alora didn't want to change him, no.

She accepted everything about him and more, but she wanted him to change toward her.

To be, his other part, just like he was hers.

She was afraid that he would not open up to her, and that she would raise the child alone because she wouldn't live with the man who only wanted sex with her.

She needed love.

"How are you feeling today?" Kayden asked Alora after she took a shower.

"You asking me can I go downstairs for breakfast with Ella and Jake?" She asked him, smiling.

"It crossed my mind, yes", he answered.

"That would be good, I'm tired of this room", she said.

"Just the room?" He asked, teasing.

She knew he meant everything they had done in the last 5 days in the room.

Just the thought of it, made her blush.

"Yes", she said fast, not wanting him to see her face, and rushed into the kitchen.

There were Ella and Jake, already waiting for them.

Kayden must have told him that they will come.

"Hey, girl, I hope you had a good night's sleep", Ella teased her.

"A matter of fact, I have", Alora answered, blushing again.

They all laughed, even Kayden had a smile on his face.

He was proud of her, but he couldn't say it properly.

He needed to let himself go.

With her.

Everything else will come with that, naturally, but, he was still stubborn, even though he promised himself that he would change, something inside him couldn't let him do it.

Especially now, he couldn't allow being vulnerable, he had a baby to protect, and a woman he loved.

He thought now wasn't the right time, but actually, it never was.

Is there a time for something in life, or the things come when they are meant to come?

He was afraid for Alora and the baby, he needed to protect them at any cause.

Clark was a cruel man, thirsty of blood, and if he got his eye on Alora, he would do anything to get her, anything.

If he fails, he will rather kill her, instead someone else has her.

Kayden never liked him.

Even when he worked for Sorus as Beta, he knew that something was wrong with him, and the worst part was that Sirus knew it too.

He also knew that he would seek revenge, that's why he doubled guards on borders, knowing he would attack again, but this time, he would be ruthless, because Kayden had something he wanted, Alora.

But, she carried his child, and that was something that he wanted all his life.

To become a father.

That's why he loved her even more and wanted to protect her more.

"What's wrong with you, man, you're absent," Jake asked him, suddenly.

"Just thinking", he answered.

"Have you doubled the guards as I told you?" Kayden asked Jake.

"Five days ago, and Blake doubled the training too so that we all be ready", Jake said.

"Ready for what?" Alora asked, looking at them, confused.

Ella watched her worriedly.

She knew about Clark, Jake told her a long time ago, besides, she was here longer than Alora, she knew things, and sometimes she kept her mouth shut because it could make Alora worry, and that was not what she needed right now.

"Because of Clark, he 's still free, and he's a dangerous man", Kayden said.

"Just because of him?" She asked him.

"Yes , Alora, you are not safe , still", he said, upset.

"What about Dana, you forgot about her?" She asked him, with anger.

"Ella and Jake exchanged looks.

They knew Alora wasn't stupid, neither was Kayden.

"No, I haven't", Kayden answered her, and his jaw clenched.

He did that more because of Dana, but he couldn't tell that to Alora, he didn't want her to be upset, and he thought that Clark and Dana were in this together, just like Sirus.

For now, it was all just a theory, but he couldn't be sure.

Alora smiled, bitterly.

"You know, what, Kayden?!" She said with a serious tone.

"I'm not some kind of dame in distress, who you need to protect from everything", she said.

"I can take care of myself verywell, thank you, and you can tell me the truth, because I'm not a child who afraids of a dark!" She finished.

"I told you a while ago", he said.

"The hell you did!" She raised her voice.

"I'm not just a human anymore, I need to know the truth, especially if this is a life I'll be leading now", she told him.

"You're pregnant, with my child, which means that I'll protect you at any cause, did you understand?" He raised his eyebrows, questioningly.

"So, what I told you , stays, end of conversation", he finished.

Alora took her plate and tossed it into the sink, then left, disappointed, because if she stayed, she would started to cry and hate the satisfaction he wouldn't have.

To see her as submissive.
