"I like you."
The familiar soft music fills the entire hall. Some of the students sit on their designated seats, laughing lightly with their friends, while most take the night as a chance to mingle with their colleagues from different courses. Lady luck was on our side, as there's no fixed seating arrangement—only you should be with your blockmates.
Though, not with Ayon.
I could see her vividly from the other side, a visible scowl on her face. .
Her bright red sleeveless dress flaunts her silky legs with its high slit. She looks bold, daring—a mean girl. I look away, and reach the glass of orange juice in front of me.
"It could've been better you know," nilingon ko ang katabi. Aaron looked at me with questioning eyes. "If this was wine."
Marahan siyang tumawa, marahil sang-ayon sa aking sinabi. We clink our glasses together and drink it as if it were a strong type of liquor.
"This sure is one hella boring party for us," lintaya niya.
Maybe, maybe not... I whispered at the back of my head as his eyes meet mine.
I took in his entire appearance—dashingly dressed in a white dress shirt with two buttons undone, paired with a navy blue coat. His hair was messy—he looked like a mess. A handsomely messy one, at least, in his outfit tonight.
"What were you saying?"
"I said," lumalim ang kanyang paghinga."I like you."
Diretso akong tumingin sa kaniya. I look straight into his glasses, which hide his tantalizing black orbs. Staring into them feels like gazing into a black hole—deep like the ocean, igniting something inside me. It's kind of amusing. He amuses me. And I knew it was coming, but it still surprised me that he actually said it out loud.
I didn't expect him to be bold enough to confess his feelings.
"Then, thank you."
I licked my lower lip, smiling slightly. His eyes widened as his hold on me gradually loosened.
I left him dumbfounded because I do not like him that way. Yes, he interests me; he was able to pique my attention. But that's it.
I mumbled.
I glared at the beauty who pulled me, I almost tripped! I stopped myself, thinking that it would only mess up her hair.
"What's that?" Her head bobbed. "I just saw you with Andrada!"
"So?"
I look at her from head to toe, surveying her appearance. She exudes elegance and classy in her Ivory ruched long sleeve mini dress—definitely a living doll, full of femininity. She's truly the epitome of timeless beauty that never falters.
She jumped on my shoulders, clinging as if a Koala. "Does he like you? Ano?" I can hear the giddiness in her voice.
Malamya akong umirap. "Chismosa ka!" I pushed her head away from me. "Sa party ba ang punta mo o sa club?"
