It had been a few days since everything. Lute had barely eaten or slept. She had been racked with all sorts of emotions. Emily kept checking on her which was annoying but nice. Lute knew Emily had her best interest at heart. Lute was currently sitting on the couch. She wanted to watch TV or a movie but that was more of Adam's thing. She was just looking at the blank tv.
Today was the day she would visit Adam. Sera made sure to call Lute every night with updates. It seemed he was getting better. A knock at the door snapped Lute out of her thoughts. She walked over and opened it. It was Sera.
"Lute," she said. "Are you ready?"
"Yes," Lute nodded. They walked to Sera's car. Lute sat in the passenger seat as Sera put the car in drive.
"He's doing better," Sera told her. "How are you" she glanced over at Lute. She felt bad for the poor girl. She knew Lute was hurting. Sera was glad Emily had been helping out. Sera knew Lute could be impulsive with her anger.
"I'm fine" Lute looked ahead. She knew she looked rough, to say the least. "I got Lucifer kicked out of the gym. I can't press charges though no one saw what happened" Lute was beyond angry at that. She knew the rational thing was just to get a restraining order on Lucifer. However, if she and Adam wanted revenge and they were caught it would fuck them over. Lute knew she just needed to play her cards right.
"Sorry to hear that" Sera expressed. "That's not okay whatsoever."
Lute shrugged. She didn't want to get into it now. She just wanted to see Adam. They pulled into the facility. It was nice-looking and brand new. Adam's dad was loaded, to say the least. They parked and Sera led Lute in. As they walked in Lute knew Veterans benefits could never get her anything this nice. They then found the room Adam would be in. "Are you ready?" Sera looked at Lute. Lute nodded again. She wasn't talkative today.
They opened the door. There was a large glass window overlooking a courtyard. A bed was on the right side of the room. On the opposite was a chair and table where Adam was sitting looking out the window. "Adam" Sera said softly. Praying this went well. "Lute's here."
Adam turned around. He looked at her for a second. Before he could speak Lute rushed into the conversation. "Adam I never would do that to you. It was all his fault" Lute made sure to keep Lucifer's name out of her mouth.
"Shut up" he growled and looked at her with pure anger. "You did this to me. You're the reason I'm here"
"Adam" Sera stated. "What did your therapist say."
Adam closed his eyes. "Not everyone I love is out to get me"
"Adam. Lute cares for you" Sera said. She just wanted this to go well.
Adam opened his eyes and looked directly at Lute. "That night I got attacked by those two dogs. It felt better than talking to you. I should have let them eat me so I would have never had to deal with you."
Sera knew this day was over. "Come on Lute" She grabbed Lute by the shoulders and walked her out of the room. She did not want Lute to freak out in the room and cause way more issues. "Are you okay?" she asked Lute.
Lute looked ahead at the whitewalls. "He hates me. I'll never get to be with Adam" She could feel herself getting angry. She was going to kill Lucifer.
"Lute you need to focus on Adam not his delusions" Sera explained. "He's in therapy right now. They are also readjusting his medication. This is just a small bump. We can visit him next week"
Lute's heart broke. She didn't want Adam here another week. She wanted home with her now. "Will he get better?" she looked at Sera.
Sera sighed. "I don't know. He's been doing well though." Sera didn't have the heart to tell Lute he regressed when he saw her. "He's aware he's not thinking right. These things take time. I've been telling him how much you care about him. Could you maybe tell me a happy memory you two have together? That way when I see him I can remind him"
