AN/ I wrote this faster than expected lol. Enjoy!

"So I was thinking" Adam shoved a taco into his mouth. "That we should get a cabin for the 4th of July"

"That would be nice" Lute picked at her enchilada. She was still hesitant to tell Adam her story. But he told her everything she figured it was time.

"Yeah, I figured with all your issues and whatnot" Adam swallowed the taco. "I already have the perfect place in mind. It's about a two-hour drive outside the city"

"That would work" Lute nodded. "Are you going to be okay with nature? We didn't do well last time camping" She immediately had flashbacks to stuffing a worm into her mouth.

"I made sure it was air conditioning, indoor plumbing, electricity, and had a hot tub" Adam refused to ever live like a savage again. He was not doing it. He refused.

"A hot tub?" Lute looked at him oddly. "It's like a million degrees outside you'll turn to soup"

"Not at night. It will be cold outside" Adam told her.

"You're so weird" Lute sighed. "Okay, when do we leave?"

"July 1st and come back July 5th? How does that sound?" he asked.

"Sounds good" Lute was nervous about this trip. She was afraid to say or do the wrong thing. She didn't want Adam to judge her again. At least she had a warning. She was so relieved she broke in and got Adam's therapy notes. She could at least be prepared.

Lute had one day before she left with Adam. She looked at her suitcase laid out. It was all survival gear. She knew they wouldn't need night vision goggles or a grappling hook. But it was so hard to put it away. Lute looked in her closet for some cute clothes. Despite all her clothes looked like she was about to survive the Montana Willdenress for five months. "Why can't I buy cute clothes" she sighed and pulled out a dark green t-shirt. She wished she could wear pink but she would think of Vaggie. She looked through her closet more and found gray, black, and camouflaged clothing. Lute was getting upset at herself.

She sat down on her bed. As she sat there she had an idea. She pulled out her phone and called a friend.

"Lute" Emily picked up. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm good I was wondering if you could help me?" Lute hated asking for help but she wanted to look good for Adam.

"Sure what's going on?" Emily asked.

Lute swallowed her pride. "I'm going with Adam to the lake this weekend and I need help getting proper clothes. All I have is survival gear"

"Yes!' Emily squealed from the phone. "Shopping trip! I'll pick you up soon!"

Lute was happy Emily was on board. She was nervous as well. She had never gone shopping with a friend. A few hours later they were on their way. "So where do you want to go?" Emily asked.

Lute shrugged and looked out the window. "I don't know somewhere to look nice for the Fourth."

"Well, Old Navy has some good options. Every year they have Fourth of July shirts. It would be funny if you and Adam matched." Emily suggested.

Lute did like that idea. "Okay let's do that"

They arrived at Old Navy. Everything was standard-looking to Lute. It wasn't too much which was nice. "Here are the T-Shirts" Emily held one up. It was white with the American Flag and Old Navy underneath it with the year.

"It's so basic" Lute touched it.

Emily smiled "It is but it's the quintessential Fourth of July shirt"
