i sighed sadly, staring at my teacher as he went on about an upcoming test in math, worth about 20% of our grades. failing it would potentially cost your grade... so it was important not to. but, just to my luck, i happen to suck at the topic we're currently discussing!

it feels like whenever they explain an equation, it goes through one ear and quickly out the other. i just don't understand, no matter what.... i can't bring myself to keep pestering and bothering my teacher for help every other minute neither, especially when he's so stressed with helping everyone else in class. so i opt to draw and doodle on the corner of the paper or my notebook until class ends...

the bell rang, and everyone was quick to exit the classroom. i stood up sadly, and turned to see nagi sleeping on top of his desk, snoring softly. reo wasn't here, since he had an advanced class for math. i poked nagi's cheek, to which he groaned and turned his head the other way.

the classroom was emptying at a quick pace, meaning that we'd be the last ones left if he doesn't get up any time soon- and he doesn't look like he wants to either. he looks so deep asleep that I almost feel guilty to want to wake him, but its either going to be me or the loud teacher, and nagi's already established multiple times before that he hates being woken up by teachers (because of how annoying they are).

"um... nagi..?" i spoke, poking his arm. the boy only groaned in response, and i wasn't sure what to do after that. i sat on the vacant seat beside him instead, holding both of our bags in hand.

"school ended..." i said, pursing my lips when he only let out a snore in response. how is he even still alive? how has he survived for so long...

"HEY! didn't ya hear the girl? school's ended, come on now if you wanna get home sooner!" a loud voice exclaimed from behind me, and i jumped in surprise. when i turned around, i was pleasantly surprised to see reo with his bag slung over his shoulder cooly. he winked at me before moving to bother his friend and my cheeks warmed in embarrassment. he gave his friend's head a couple slaps before nagi finally had enough and woke up. he glared at reo then stood up on his own. "ugh... i didn't get any sleep yesterday..."

reo grinned. "yeah, i noticed. it's rather unusual for you not to be the first one out of the classroom."

i stood up from my seat and handed nagi his bag, to which he thanked me quietly. we left the classroom together, with nagi yawning loudly the entire time. reo stared at him from the corner of his eye and sighed. "you're hopeless. you won't make it to practice like this, huh?"

nagi tilted his head. "hmm... probably not.... there's always a next time..."

"I'll never understand how you're not devestated about this! wasting a day of practice is like losing on a thousand dollars. it's a great deal..."

"ya know i'm not really a football fan like that. i'm only playing 'cause you force me and you guys need someone to fill the 11th spot..."

reo shrugged. "you seem to adore it when playing with isagi."

nagi shot him a look before averting his gaze to the wall. "you don't know what you're talking about..."

reo chuckled at his friend's embarrassment upon being caught in his lie.

i tilted my head at this. i knew that nagi wasn't really the athletic type, and the fact that he was even playing football giving his personality was strange. but i never thought that he wasn't interested in it the way your typical football player was. i thought that football was an exception, i guess i was wrong.

"you don't like football?" i asked, looking up at nagi who yawned for the nth time this hour. we were walking through the hallway toward the exit of the school where we'd meet the rest of the friendgroup. we passed by many classmates who greeted reo enthusiastically, especially the girls. nagi was barely recognized, save from a couple greetings from the male students, and me, although no surprise, wasn't spared even a glance.
