"i don't know whether i should play football after school today or study..." reo sighed, staring down at his notebook in boredom. nagi was asleep on his desk, not even listening to his friend that was ranting to him while i nodded attentively. i knew that he most likely didn't take any offense in nagi's behavior since this is how he usually acts, but i could still not quite get used to it... they have a strange friendship, that's for sure.

"uh... is it difficult?" i asked, staring at the purple haired boy that turned the page to his notebook. he cocked his head to me and shrugged, "meh, not really. but i have to try if i wanna keep my straight a's, so i don't got a choice really."

"so you're skipping today? sweet. that means i can too." nagi said, now waking up. we both sweatdropped at this. he really only hears what he likes to hear...

"aren't you studying?"

"i'll live." nagi shrugged.

i stayed silent, and watched as they bickered back and forth.

this could be my chance to hang out with reo... and maybe even go on a date... but that'd never happen and it's only a dream, but it's worth a shot. i have to do it now... or else i won't find an opportunity like this again!

with my heart hammering in my chest and my palms sweating profusely, i spoke up, "um... can you tutor me for the upcoming test?! i-it's a really difficult topic...! i haven't gotten a hang of it yet... s-so...." my voice trailed off, and i sounded more unsure than anything. the two were surprised by my sudden outburst, and i slowly covered my face with my sleeves in embarrassment.

"sorry..." i mumbled against the fabric, feeling the blood rushing to my face. i totally blew any chances i might've ever had, even if it were 2%. maybe it wasn't even 2%... maybe i really had no chance from the beginning... gosh... why couldn't i have been more normal about it, most girls just ask casually! like, "hey, wanna hang out?" or, "hey, can you help me with the upcoming test? thanks!"

ugh... this sucks.. i want to melt into a puddle and die.

"hey, no worries! and yeah, i can tutor you of course. no need to get so nervous about it." reo said, putting a warm hand on top of my shoulder. slowly, i removed my hands from my face and looked up at him, feeling the blood rush to my face. i nodded slowly and let my hands fall on top of my lap, and he smiled. "thank you..."

"sure. the test is this friday, yeah? i can bring you over to my house today, unless you wanna do it in the library instead." he responded, sitting back down in his desk. nagi stared at our interaction from his desk that he was currently lying his head on top of in silence.

"oh... uhm... anything is fine..." i mumbled. "i've never been tutored before so i don't really know..."

"alright, my house it is then." he nodded and the bell rang, signaling the beginning of our next class.

the day ended, and it was time for us to go.

"WHAT! you're skipping TODAY?! WE FINALLY CONVINCED GAGAMARU AND HIORI TO JOIN! DUDE!" bachira yelled, pushing reo back and forth. "EVEN RIN AND SHIDOU'S COMING!"

reo bonked bachira on the head, making him let go of him. "don't you guys have to study too, huh? i know you're failing, bachira, isagi, and that antennae bastard. your grades are shit."

"i'm gonna be a pro football player! my grades won't matter." isagi and bachira defended at the same time, making reo smack his forehead in exasperation. "my parents are gonna have my ass and force me to quit football if i'm not getting straight a's anymore. besides, i gotta tutor y/n. if you wanna join, you're more than welcome to."

"well... i guess grades are also important. but i can't miss today, so i'm gonna pass this time." isagi hummed, rubbing his chin in thought.

"you "guess"?" nagi sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. that's right... even someone as lazy as nagi cares about his grades. he has a scholarship in this highschool, after all. which i almost let out a scream when i found out. it's such an unexpected thing from nagi, but i guess that just means that the rest of us have to begin taking school more seriously. (which i do, but my efforts are always futile. proof = my grades).

"alright then, what about you then, nagi? why are you skipping? it better be a worthy reason or else we're dragging you along." chigiri said, crossing his arms over his chest teasingly. nagi rubbed the back of his head and shrugged. "i'm studying too."

the boys all blinked in surprise, staring at the white haired boy who didn't care to elaborate his words, despite his friend's obvious shock at his words. a couple seconds passed of sheer shock and silence, before bachira pointed an accusing finger at his friend. "that's bullshit! since when did you study?"

"since today." he shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets.

reo raised an eyebrow at this, before shrugging as well. "alright then. i guess that's that. i thought you trusted me, since we're friends and all."

it was nagi's time to be confused this time, as he turned to his purple haired friend that was dramatically pulling isagi close to him by his shoulder. "i can't believe that i considered him a friend when he doesn't trust me to keep my hands off of his girlfriend..." he spoke jokingly, making isagi let out an awkward laugh in response. "that's not why..." nagi sighed, running a hand through his hair as he watched his friends mocking him.

"i can't believe you'd cheat on me... nagi-chan... i thought what we had was REAL!" bachira said, wiping a tear dramatically.

"WE'RE OVER!" reo cried.

"ugh... i don't know these people...." nagi, isagi and chigiri said at the same time, all looking away from the two weirdos who were laughing loudly.

i sweat dropped at their acts, unsure how i should react. i never knew boys could be so weird...
