after our conversation in the nurse's office and treating her bruise, we mutually agreed on skipping school for today to take care of something more important. i felt my phone buzzing continuously in my pocket, most likely the other's asking for our whereabouts, but i had no time to bother responding, i had more important matters to attend to first– y/n.

sneaking out of school was hard, we didn't want to be found and then get in trouble, but because everyone was inside the school there weren't a lot of teachers out, if even any. our next destination was her home. she seemed hesitant about the plan we had made on the spot– sneaking into her home, packing a bag full of her stuff, and going to mine.

finally, she would stay with me until further notice.

she was evidently nervous, and i would be lying if i said i wasn't either. it didn't feel like such a big deal back when rin suggested it, yeah it was a bit strange but nothing more than that. however, now that we're actually going through with it, the realization and responsibility that fell on my shoulders was heavy. still, i'd do it no matter what. it's what i can do for her.

"are you sure about this?" she asked for the hundredth time.

"yeah, i am. just do it quickly, no need to say any greetings. you said your mom is usually asleep at this time."

"but what if she's not? she'll beat me."

"i'll be right by the door, so leave it open for me. i'll come in if anything happens." i said, watching as she fiddled with the sleeves to her cardigan. she was clearly very nervous and scared, i could tell by the tremble of her hands and shoulders. i put a hand on top of her shoulder, making her jolt up in surprise before turning to look at me. "look. i'll be right here. nothing's gonna happen."

we stared at each other for a couple seconds, before she finally nodded and took a step closer to her front door, and i let go of her shoulder. i watched as she unlocked the door, before carefully and slowly stepping inside. i shoved my foot into the little opening before the door closed after her, and peeked inside.

there were a couple shoes messily discarded on the floor, and the hallway was dark. i saw y/n quietly slip her shoes off before sneaking inside. i could barely see anything from the darkness, and soon it had engulfed her entire figure when she went deeper inside. i couldn't hear anything, so i suspected that her mother was still asleep, fortunately. even if i said that i'd back her up, i still didn't really want to get into a fight with a woman...

i exhaled deeply, before stepping away from the door to lean against the wall. i probably looked very suspicious, so i was thankful that there was no one around to see me and question me. the apartment complex looked relatively empty. we hadn't seen a single soul when we stepped inside.

i decided to check my phone, which had grown silent not too long ago. the guys were probably tired of pestering me and me ignoring them in response, or maybe the teachers had confiscated their phones...

what a bunch of idiots. why would they spam me so much during school time?

when i checked the group chat, i was not surprised to see that all the recent messages were just the dudes relentlessly tagging me and asking for mine and y/n's whereabouts. i get that they're worried... but this is a lot...

i decided to call reo, seeing that they should be on break around this time.

the moment i hit call, he answered.

"where are you?"

i sighed onto the phone.

"hey dumbass. i'm not in school. why were you spamming me so much?"
