"and the video of the year award goes to..", jimmy paused, opening the envelope, his jaw dropping as he giggled excitedly..
my leg was bopping up and down as i held jack's hand; i'd made up my mind that it didnt matter if i won or lost tonight, but at that moment, it still was coated in anxiousness.
"Wildest Dreams, Stella Monroe", Jimmy yelled into the mike, my name echoing through the walls of the venue. Everyone stood up clapping while i was still looking up at everyone, frozen in my seat as i kept repeating "We won?".
"Yes we won, now get your ass up there", Don ushered me up to the stage.
I lifted my dress so that i could walk through the stage. My heels clicked as i ran to hug jimmy, laughing at my win. "I knew you would win", he smirked, shouting it out since the claps were deafening.
"I-Oh my god, i can't, i can't even breathe", i laughed out, holding the VMA in my hand. "This is my, my 3rd VMA, and, the fact that this is a fan voted award? are you gusy kidding me? I wrote this song, at a very low point in my life, that was pretty recent actually..when i heard the final product though, i was like, no this has to be a music video, and it did", i laughed. "I just wanna thank my fans, you guys have changed my life, i wanna thank my producer, my management, my friends, who helped me get through this time in my life, my family..and the inspiration for this song", i smiled.."thank you", i ended, exiting the stage
(later that night at the after party)
it was loud..and i mean loud..as a highly sensitive person, i covered my ears when i walked in, the lights blinding me as i tried to make my way to the front of the bar. I was holding onto one side of my dress, squeezing past celebrities trying to spot at least one of my friends..i started to feel stuck and overwhelmed, tears pricking my eyes as i gasped for some air.
I felt a hand pull me out from the crowd and was instantly hit with oxygen as i breathed it in, stumbling a bit to regain my conscience..I saw the face of the man who technically saved me and good lord - i felt like i was dreaming..
"hey im nick", he smiled, extending his hand for me to take it.i shook him back.."stella, stella monroe" "Oh we're using full names? oh well in that case, nicholas galitzine".."Oh its nice to meet you", i replied.."Come let me buy you a drink", he offered, showing me to the bar.
"Yeah and i was just like, 'hey i didn't start it' but she knew what she did", i laughed, telling him about an old story that happened years ago. "I didn't get the chance to congratulate you on your new song", his eyes widened as he remembered.."and your win tonight, i have to say, you are incredible", he said, causing me to blush. "Don't say that, im just doing my job" "Yeah, but you're doing it amazingly"..
"Excuse me, i have to go to the bathroom", i excused myself as i slipped off the stool and scurried to find one of my friends..
"OH SHIT LIV!", i screamed, spotting her drinking in a corner. "I WAS LOOKING ALL OVER FOR YOU!", i yelled over the loud music.."I MET SOMEONE WHO'S LITERALLY FUCKING GORGEOUS!", i screamed out, making liv's eyes widen.
She made her way over to me, i pushed me into the bathroom, grabbing me by my shoulders.."no fucking way", she screeched, "tell me everything!!!"
