The train ride was silent.
When the two victors were first forced onto the train, they were a bit taken back at first- having no idea what was going on. The door shut behind them, and they weren't allowed out.
Juniper retreated to the couch, waiting for any word on what was going on. Finnick paced the train car, slowly walking back and forth with his hands crossed around his chest. A few minutes passed when Mags and Serenity finally walked on the train, and they were off.
"Why are we leaving?" Juniper said, standing from her seat on the couch.
"Peacekeepers had orders straight from Snow to take all victors straight to the trains. No goodbyes." Serenity whispered. She looked between both Finnick and Juniper, who had looks of despair on their face. Both had not been able to say goodbye to their loved ones before they left.
"That's bullshit." Juniper rolled her eyes, sitting back down on the couch and laying down. She looked up through the window, looking at the sky.
Finnick looked at the girl. Whenever he saw her, he swore he only saw red. Anger. That's what he thought it was.
"Just as selfish as I remember."
His own voice echoed through his head. Juniper Plinth had proved him wrong once again.
When the two first met, he enjoyed her company. Very much, actually. However, she had changed completely once she had won the games. To him, she seemed unrecognizable to the girl he knew.
"Are you going to keep staring at me?" Juniper said, breaking him out of his mind. Finnick laughed, putting his hands on his hips, wanting to make a comment towards her but was cut off. "I don't really want to deal with your shit now, can you leave me alone?"
Finnick noticed her voice crack, and he peaked over to the couch a bit more, her arm was covering her eyes.
He walked out of the room without a word, leaving Juniper alone with her thoughts.
"I want you two to forget everything you know about the games." Haymitch poured himself some whiskey in a glass. "Last year was child's play, this year you're dealing with all experienced killers."
