It took Katniss some time to regain herself from Peeta's near death experience, and they eventually started getting a move on to another part of the jungle. However, they moved slowly. Although Peeta was walking, he was still a bit shaken up. They needed to find somewhere to make camp before it got late.

Juniper noticed how Katniss kept eyeing Finnick, as if she wanted to kill him. She didn't know why, but sometimes she gave Finnick that look too, so she just shrugged it off and pretended she understood.

Juniper couldn't lie, playing the pregnancy card for Katniss was smart. He had actually used his brain, she applauded him. Katniss had taken lead of the group, not wanting anyone to be struck by the forcefield again.

Finnick watched Juniper intensely. Usually, when the two were with eachother for an extended period of time, they would be driving the other one crazy. Nonstop dumb remarks, pointing out flaws of the other. Juniper was still awfully quiet. Finnick had a feeling it was from the trauma she went through this morning.

He pretended he didn't care, but the pity in his eyes for the girl walking in front of him said otherwise.

His thoughts were interrupted when Katniss turned to the group. "We aren't going to find anything. Let's rest here, I want to get a look from above."

Peeta gladly sat down the moment the words left her mouth, leaning his back against a big tree. Katniss put her bow on her back and began climbing up a tree. When she disappeared into the thick branches and leaves, it left the three of them alone.

Finnick sat down near a smaller tree, he looked at Juniper, expecting her to join him for some reason. But she sat herself down next to Peeta instead.

"Are you okay?" Peeta asked softly. Juniper turned to him, she noticed a worrisome expression on his face and in his eyes. "You still seem pretty shaken up from the water incident."

Peeta noticed her silence. She pulled her knees to her chest and put her chin on one of her knees. "If you don't want to talk about it, you don't need-"

"I've just been afraid of the ocean... or just large lakes for a few years." Juniper cut him off, barely above a whisper. "I have a bad past with it with my parents. I guess being surrounded by it just sent me into an episode of some kind."

Peeta nodded, understanding her reasoning completely. He had wondered what happened to her parents, but from the looks of her now and before, it wasn't good at all. He didn't want to question her any further.
